Alex Green (1 Viewer)

Grant and Starks are not going to go away in just a week if Green has a good game in spot duty against a bad team like Denver.

Though, if you have room in Dynasty, he is not a terrible stash.

In dynasty he should already be rostered but not in redraft. Coaches said they want to get grant the ball more and his injury should only be a one week break.

Green had 16 carries for 23 yards in the preseason playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers. He is a good size/speed prospect but there's little to say he's better than Starks or Grant at this point.

and Lance Kendricks looked like the best TE in preseason, how did that work out this year? My point is preseason isnt everything. To eaglesfan the Packers coaches have been saying one thing and doing another in regards to the RB situation this year so I would take that with a grain a salt. But like I specified in the thread this was directed toward dynasty leagues because he may have been off the radar, but after this week I doubt he will be.

It remains to be seen if Green is a good RB, but a really good RB in that offense would make people forget about Grant and Starks overnight.

If Alex Green is on the waiver wire in a dynasty...quit your league
lol man, calm your arrogance down. What if you are in an IDP Dynasty league with limited roster spots and you dropped him after starks looked like a super stud would it really be that bad?

Yep.

Grant getting hurt after his big carry game I think may make it his last big carry game of the year. owning Starks could pay dividends soon.
I will take that some of that action
The last time he got as many carries as he got last week was week 12 in 2009. and what happens afterward? he gets hurt. IMO they need Grant as he knows how to do all the little things right back there.the handoffs are smoother, the plays get off quicker, he is in the right position for blocking. I think they will ease his load so they have him all year.

I mean after this week when they play Denver everyone will be saying Starks is the man because he will no doubt get off.but that is not why I think he won't be workloaded again. it will be cause they want to save their best back. and Grant is their best back.

Green is not on any of my dynasty league's waivers. Probably because I drafted him in everyone one of them.

I like Green as a potential all-purpose RB for Green Bay in the future. I don't see him as just a Brandon Jackson replacement. He has the skill-set and size to be more than just a 3rd down back. However, he needs time to be developed into that role, so patience with Green will be needed.

any updates?
No, Grant and Starks are still mediocre. Green is a rookie being slowly worked in. He is a nice size/speed combo, and is supposed to be good in the pass-catching department. My thought is that Grant won't be on their roster next year and Starks will be injured or passed by Green by early 2012. That's my hope anyway. :greendynastyowner:

Starks Suck ?? How ? I have watched every single packers game and Starks doing very good. He still need to upgrade is blitz pick-up, but still a good prospect. Good catching abilities, running with power, find the right hole. I have confidence in him going foward

He doesn't suck. He's just mediocre. He runs too upright. His pass-blocking is below average. He's quick but doesn't have breakaway speed. IMO he's a jack of all trades, but master of none kind of guy. He's probably a little bit above average, but near average nonetheless. His running style and tall frame lends itself to injury, so I wouldn't count on him staying healthy for a long period of time.

If everyone was as cool as you then you'd just be average.
Holy crap, there are a lot of sensitive sallies here. Maybe people would rather jump on his case than accept that he's got a legitimate point. Green shouldn't be a free agent in dynasty. And if you've got a short bench in your dynasty league... quit your league.

Green looks very promising to me. Starks and, to a lesser extent, Grant don't 'wow' me as RB talents. As someone else mentioned, the GB offense allows middling RBs to thrive. This shows in how bad GB has been in running in 3rd in short the last few years. Another knock on Starks is that he still continues to be bad in pass protection, and McCarthy doesn't like that.

Green, on the other hand, does seem have some exciting talent. I'm sure we will see him involved by the end of the year, but not enough to be valuable in a redraft league. If you're in a dynasty league grab him, I think he has big potential to break out next season.
