Ok, especially for those of you in start 2QB leagues. Which of these 2 QBs has the best shot at cracking your lineup this year, or at least being a good bye week replacement?

It's been reported here that the Niners are going to have a top-10 offense. I guess that means the winner here is Alex Smith.

Both of these guys looked much better this pre-season than they looked last year.

I think they will be very close, but I went with Losman because he has had more time to gell with his favorite receiver Evans and I think McGahee is better than Gore(not by much, though).

gotta be alex smith. san fran.'s defense will ensure that he needs to air out the ball, while the same can't be said for buffalo.

While I agree with you, that doesn't always mean better production. Always playing from behind means a lot more defensive pressure and he is still learning the game. With Losman throwing less, the coaches can pick his spots and give him more chance to be succesful. I think Smith will have more yards but less TDs and more Ints than Losman. I guess it depends on your scoring system.

Are you sure it's not because the other guy's name is so close to "Adam Smith"?

OK, so far it's going in Smith's favor. Is that due to him having more talent as a QB? An easier schedule? More talent around him? A worse D that will force him to throw more?

IMO Losman looked better than Smith this pre-season. If Losman is available late as a 3rd QB I will draft him. Both players have favorable schedules.

Losman has had two years, Smith has had one. To me, that makes Losman a more proven (of still not entirely proven) disaster than Smith. Plus, I think SF has the pieces for a complete offense, whereas Buffalo has only McGahee and Lee Evans.

Losman missed his entire rookie year with a broken leg, didn't he?

How much of Losman and/or Smith did you see?

I have relatively high expectations of players who sat for a whole year, but Losman disappointed even those with the lowest expectations. The leg injury doesn't play a large role in my valuation.

Really? I didn't realize jerry Rice and TO were back with SF this year.
