Alge Crumpler outlook w/o Vick? (1 Viewer)

Just looking for opinions on Crumpler without Vick (since Vick seemed to target him a lot). In the past 2 weeks (1 dynasty startup draft and 1 redraft) I drafted Crumpler in the 12th round or so as the 12th-14th TE taken. What is your opinion on him this season?

I don't have the answer but I think the key question is how much will Harrington be looking to dump off?

If I had to take a stab I would say 700-800 yards and 7-9 TDs. Not too much different than last year.

Exactly - Harrington is a better passer (even if not by a lot) but is also likely to lean heavily on Crumpler, so I see only a slight drop. Excellent "value" pick.

Falcons coach Bobby Petrino says Alge Crumpler has been "hesitant at times" during camp and hasn't played with good speed.

That's to be expected from a player with knee troubles, but the Falcons need a confident Crumpler if they're to have any threat of an intermediate passing attack at all. Crumpler is a riskier pick than ever in fantasy leagues.

Im worried about his knees more than Joey getting him the ball, I dont think Joey will have any trouble connecting with a large target like Alge. Any detail on his knee or his hesitant route running as stated above..

Harrington should throw to Crumpler plenty. One concern though is that his TDs could drop just by virtue of the Atlanta offense not being any good.

I think he is being over-valued at this point. People are saying his numbers will go up because Harrington is a better true passer, I think they drop because Harrington is much less of an offensive threat than Vick was. 600 yards & 5 or 6 TD's is where I think he ends up in '07.

McMichael sucked with Joey throwing him the ball last year. I am not high on Crumpler at all. And he made Chris Chambers LOOK like he was an Atlanta receiver. Harrington at QB is a downgrade for almost any team in the NFL.

Vick's ability to throw the ball down the field meshed perfectly with Crumpler's ability to be a deep threat/big play type of player.

These guys were in the league together every single season and had a rapport that will take time to build between Harrington and Crumpler. (assuming that happens at all)

Overall I'm not high on Crumpler but if he's falling to double digit rounds you've gotta at least think about taking him there.

40-45 receptions..3-4 tds..its not the absence of Vick that will hurt , its the departure of Gregg Knapp to Oakland that is the main reason that Crumpler falls WAY down the TE rankings..Knapp's style was to use the TE , extensively. He's going to use the same format in Oak., and a leading indicator of that is the fact that Zach Miller was drafted in the 2nd round by the Raiders ; they intent to use him quite a bit! ATL has gotten better at the WR position, maybe..I mean, Joe Horn is 55 years old, but he's better than anything they've had down there in quite some time. But I would view Crumpler as an afterthought this season, I wouldn't want him on my team..

Knapp and his low 20s pass attempts per game are going to be no loss for Crumpler. Worry about the injury or Vick's absence, but realise his targets are unlikely to drop given he's the best receiver and the team will throw a lot more

I drafted yesterday in a 12-team, Keep 6, non-ppr, TE required league. I thought possibly there was a major injury that I wasn't aware of with Crumpler since he slipped so far in our draft. I selected Witten at 8.4 & Crumpler at 11.9.

Got Crumpler for $1 in a $350 cap auction, and nabbed him in the 13th round of a serpentine. The guy's stock has plummeted from what I've seen.
