Here's my list. Everydown backs with little competition for carries, involvement on passing downs, and Goalline responsibilities.

Chris Johnson

Adrian Peterson

Maurice Jones-Drew

Frank Gore

Steven Jackson

Jahvid Best

Arian Foster (only if Slaton injured)

Michael Turner (is there anyone else on his team?)

Rashard Mendenhall

When healthy Jerious Norwood is sometimes involved in passing downs.
Splitting hairs here. If you consider Norwood a serious threat for stealing touches than there's not a single 'every down back' in the league.

Also, I am so on the Jahvid Best bandwagon, but it remains to be seen if they will use him as a battering ram at the GL, considering his concussion history. He reminds me of young Brian Westbrook.

Add Ryan Grant to the list. Jackson won't snipe g/l carries. Kuhn might, but only if Grant is winded.

Mathews is out because of Sproles. I think he gets a good amount of the passing down carries.

Grant is out because they only have 2 RBs and I think Jackson get a fair share to keep Grant fresh.

Mendenhall should be added. I'll update my list.

He asked about ALL DOWN backs. Brandon jackson is the clear 3rd down rb in GB.
actually grant is in on 3rd down fairly often. he may not be all purpose, but id consider him an every down back at this point
No he doesn't. He had 6 carries and 1 catch on 3rd down last season.Jackson is almost always in on 3rd down. Grant is not even close to a 3 down back.

It's the Albert Young revolution.

Jerome Harrison anybody?

Browns coach Eric Mangini said Monday he expects Jerome Harrison to "seize the opportunity" to be the No. 1 running back and "run with it."

Harrison has historically struggled to earn the trust of his coaches, so even these cliches from Mangini are telling. With Montario Hardesty (knee) down, Harrison is the clear-cut feature back and will play on third downs as well. Consider him a strong RB2 play with the Bucs first up on the schedule Sunday.
