All Star Game MVP (1 Viewer)

Not to take anything away from CC, but a great catch and a 1 for 3 from the plate earns him an MVP. Not the type of stat line you usually see from the MVP. No runs scored. No RBIs. Just a game changing (maybe saving) catch, and a hit. Wierd.

who would have been better? Jeter scored 2 runs but didn't get a hit. Pujols made about 6 ridiculously good catches but also made a costly error. Granderson, maybe? All he had was 1 hit too, and was it really any bigger than CC's catch?

I am not trying to argue that Crawford did not deserve it to win. I am just saying it is weird to see such an unimpressive preformance by an MVP. Usually the 1 of the starters will put up a decent game with their 3 at bats. It is more of an observation that no one really did anything more impressive than a HR saving catch.Full Disclosure: I would have liked to see Granderson win it, but he only had 1 at bat. Not enough opportunity. :homer:

I was disappointed Ichiro hit into that fielder's choice or Crawford would have had a SB too.

I wouldve given it to Granderson or Rivera (sort of a lifetime achievement award for breaking the ASG saves record). Crawford was a bad choice IMO.

:homer: What did Rivera do different than any other pitcher after Halladay?Granderson got a triple, but I would argue CC's was the more difficult and better play. There were no standout statlines and CC made the only play in the game anyone will ever remember.

No one will remember that play, but thats not a slight on CC who is a tremednous player.Obama will be the memory of this game, hell, maybe he should have gotten MVP.

Upon further review. He was timing his steps the whole warning track. If he would have run to the wall it would have been pretty ho hum. His awkward hitting of the fence made it look tougher than it was.

Even with that being said, it did save a HR that would have given the NL the lead. If no one will remember that play, no one will remember anything from that game. I doubt BO's T-Rex throw to open the game will be remembered past his next tax hike.

Of course its a homer call. Its a friggin all-star game. Who cares?

Too bad it wasn't JDamon...that would have been very memorable.
