Alternate PPR Scoring (1 Viewer)

This year one of the leagues I am in decided to change the PPR scoring to something I have never seen before. I've looked through the archives but can't find any information on this certain scoring setup.

0.5 PPR WR

1 PPR RB

1.5 PPR TE

I feel like running backs are extremely overpowered with this scoring. Am I wrong to think that? Would this not give the top 6 or 7 picks in a 12 team league a larger advantage based on the significant drop off between the top tier RBs and the 2nd tier RBs this year?

How would I go about countering this if I were to draft in the 9 to 12 spot?

I am in a league (starting my second year) with this system (pretty basic .1 per Yd and 6 for TDs). What all but 2 or 3 teams seem to have missed is that the real impact is that it turns TEs into super-players. Based on FBG projections, MJD and ADP are still at the top, with projections of 284 and 289 points respectively (CJ3 might be slightly higher), but Turner and Mendenhall both project out to 219 points for the season. By contrast, Roddy White and Austin (roughly comperable level WRs to Turner and Mendy as RBs) project out to 260 and 257 points respectively. Gates projects out better than either Roddy or Austin at 268 and D.Clark at 266. Zack Miller projectes out to 219, or equal value to Turner and Mendenhall!I don't really recommend the change because this is almost crazy scoring for anyone used to basic or even normal PPR, but if you have it, you'd better realize the impact. I'd take the time to project out a whole list from each position and (assumming that everyone else will chase RBs and then WRs) as is usual, you can grab a top RB is possible, and then scoop up as many TEs and high scoring WRs as your players started and flex levels will allow you to play. Its a whole different reality!

I downloaded the VBD spreadsheet and inputted my scoring into there.

This shows the difference between the #6 and #7 RBs using my scoring.

6 Steven Jackson (01.10) StL/9 2847 Michael Turner (01.07) Atl/8 248
This is the difference using .5 RB, 1 WR, 1.5 TE like a normal staggered setup.

6 Steven Jackson (01.10) StL/9 2597 Michael Turner (01.07) Atl/8 240
Should I bring this up with my commissioner or just hope that no one else realizes that Antonio Gates is projected to score 276 points while Andre Johnson is projected to score 275?

Since we have a flex I think my plan of attack is to get 2 elite TE's and use one as the flex. Brent Celek is apparently going to outscore Reggie Wayne.

No reason to bring it up to the commish. Its just another scoring system, plug it into the DD or whatever spreadsheets you use and go. Just another advantage over magazine drafters :lmao:

I like PPR. Don't like varying the points by position. A reception is a reception. Differences in length will show up in yardage points. Might as well award 6 points for a TD to a RB and only 4 to a WR and only 2 to a TE.
