The defense will be strong. The offense will be improved, but probably still likely to be mistake-prone (whether it's Culpepper, McCown, or Russell under center), so I would temper any expectations. But I see things running better than last year; if the defense gets a turnover deep in enemy territory, the offense probably won't get sacked twice, have a penalty, and punt. At least, not as often.
Things turn around quickly in the NFL, and the Raiders have some of the pieces to compete.
