    ... :oldunsure:  .... :scared:  ..... :blackdot:

I'll be doing this Thurs & Fri with 200 4th & 5th graders. I'm pretty sure we have more than 3 chaperones. pretty sure.

26? To make it easier to remember who is who I would assign each a letter of the alphabet. Maybe draw it on their foreheads with a permanent marker.  🅰

"Attention... the bus for the camp Mohawk basketball game is leaving in 15 minutes, and there is a very fat pair of pants hanging on the flagpole this morning."

Mob mentality will kick in: the kids will be able to fend for themselves.  You are just there to put out any (literal) fires.  Have fun!

I know there's probably a rule against bringing alcohol on a trip like this, but you're going to want alcohol by the end of the first day.

we went over our rules today... definitely no alcohol.

but they didn't explicitly say I couldn't smoke crack.
In case the school finds your crack pipe:

"Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first got here that that sort of thing is frowned upon... you know, cause I've chaperoned a lot of these, and I tell you, people do that all the time."

Is anyone in the camping trip named Steve?  I assume you are a man.  Do you have a yellow hat?
I don’t believe so.  Yes.  No.

Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
Yes

Are all the students boys? I hope so with all the chaperones being dads…
No 12 boys 14 girls.  Female teacher will stay with the girls

have any of them ever been to a turkish prison?
Unlikely

i was regretting not packing some edibles by lunchtime

Please unpack this a bit more.  I'm excited for additional context.
Basically one side always had like 10 of their 13 kids in jail and the other ones would try to tag anyone who came on their side instead of rescuing their teammates, but that was only like 1 or 2 kids because the other team instead of looking for the flag when they had such an advantage would just stay on their side so they so nobody could get rescued so they would just run back and forth 5 feet across the line

This was despite the chaperones and camp counselors trying to help both sides.  Even gave them a time limit and told them they would tie

then at the end there was controversy over the flag being too hidden

Perfect.  Kids are learning international diplomatic relations at such a young age these days.
