Amazon Deal Of The Day (1 Viewer)

Already a Prime thread, but you don't have to be a Prime member on these deals, so seemed to warrant a separate thread.

On Black Friday, I got the Jurassic Park 3D Blu Ray set (actually only first and fourth/latest on 3D) that listed for about $90 for $24, and Saturday got a Seinfeld Complete Series Gift Set - DVD (Amazon exclusive) that listed for about $169 for $49.

Today there is a Warner Bros. 100 DVD OR 50 Blu-Ray Collection listed for about $600 for $90.

Other categories are also on sale.

people actually buy movies and tv shows on DVD?
I just bought a Blu-Ray yesterday. I own a few movies on Flixster/Google Play. I'm sort of in that in-between stage and was just thinking about it yesterday. For some reason that I really can't explain, I can't give up that tangible disc.

How do you own your movies now? Google Play? Flixster? Amazon? Can you help me make the change to an online library?

I used to be a big physical movie owner, but there's sooo much stuff available on streaming that keeping shelves of dvd's didn't seem to make sense anymore.

I'm gonna start a thread.

Breaking Bad Complete was on sale for $20 a bit ago. At that price why not?
Because I already watched it once so why would I ever want watch it again? and if for some reason I did, its free on several streaming options. I also dont want the additional clutter around the house. If someone gave it to me for free, Id most likely just drop it in the trash.

Hell of an idea.

I sometimes like to watch/listen to making of docs and commentary tracks, which generally aren't available for streaming.

But I can definitely see how physical media is an anachronism for some, not trying to talk people into why they "should" like them. :)

I don't have thousands of titles (Blu-Ray, DVD & CD - VHS, cassette, 8 tracks and records long gone), so space isn't as big an issue for me as it no doubt is for some.

* Also recently got a 3D set, and not sure if that type of content is avail. streaming?

I think the Back To The Future collection is the main Deal Of The Day on movies ($100 to $50), but the below looks interesting for Doctor Who fans. The TARDIS Bluetooth wireless speaker alone lists at Amazon for $120, the Blu-ray collection lists for nearly $60 and is on sale for $40 but out of stock, the combo sale price is $70. Non-Prime members can still get free shipping for orders $35 and over (though you would almost certainly get after Christmas).

Not sure the sale is today only, the Warner 50 Blu-ray collection noted above sold out in less than 24 hours.

Today:

Columbo Complete Series - $40 (lists $150)

Rockford Files Complete Collection - $60 (lists $240)

Both 34 DVD sets include later TV movies (24 for Columbo, 8 for Rockford) not in syndication, like on MeTV, latter has minimal extras.

* Rockford fun fact - The J turn was reportedly adopted in defensive/evasive driving courses by the Secret Service.

Not a deal of the day but i just ordered 3 Daniel Craig Bond Blu Rays for 13.99.

Recently watched Spectre (probably the first full Bond movie i've seen though i've probably seen one or two along with bits and pieces on TBS over the years i've forgotten) and figured why not at least carch up on these at that price.
