Andre Ethier's streak hits 30 (1 Viewer)

30 is the number where I think you start to pay attention. There really have not been that many 30+ game hitting streaks. 36 gets you into the top 10 all time.

I saw he sat out a game the other day. I guess that doesn't matter for the streak.

Does anyone know the record of consecutive team games in which a player has hit safely (which I guess would exclude the base on balls situation etc.)?

Why does the streak end for a sac fly, but not for a sac bunt?
A sac fly can be accidental.
So can't a sac bunt.
 A bunt is deliberately giving up the at bat to move the runner. A true sacrifice of the at bat. In contrast, the "sacrifice fly" is a stupid name because there's not an intent to sacrifice. It's a situational statistic.

Ahh. I just read this. However, if the official scorer believes that the batter was attempting to bunt for a base hit, and not solely to advance the runners, he is not credited with a sacrifice bunt and is charged an at bat.

I didnt know that
