Andre Johnson here on out (1 Viewer)

Is Andre's injury gonna keep him in check from here on out?

I have an opportunity to trade for him but I am very scared of him re-injuring that ankle or just limping thru the season.

Go to the houston website and read the after practice quotes from Kubiak and AJ.. AJ says he's feeling the best he has since he hurt the ankle and last week was the 1st game that he hasn't tweeked it in any way since he was hurt.

He's also talked about the past few weeks how this brace he wears prevents any further damage--

He should be okay..

The guy is tough as nails. Seems like he is hurt all the time & bounces back & goes back in the game. I think he'll be fine with the ankle injury he has currently & be fine. The only problem I have with Andre is the Houston offense. Foster looks great & they will not be passing as much as the did previously. So if you can acquire him for a reasonable price - I would grab him for sure.

due to some crafty trading I haveA. FosterC. JohnsonM. Turnera guy offered A. Johnson straight up for Turner. I have Thomas Jones as my 4th RB

I really think if he's available he's the best buy-low on the market. I'd be shocked if he wasn't a top-3 WR the rest of the season.

I have nothing worthwhile to add but I think it's funny how a few seasons ago he was considered injury prone.

2 qb, 3 rb, 3 wr league

Romo, Palmer, both Smiths & Gradkowski

Mccoy, Charles, B. Jackson, Blount and trash

AJ, Nicks, Owens, Ward and Royal

Last week I traded AJ and BJ for Flaco and T. Jones. Got a desperately needed qb and a solid rb3/handcuff. Really didn't want to let him go, but it was necessary.

Don't need to hate, just trying to provide some information on his value.

As an AJ owner, I'm worried more about the guy that throws to him
I think Schaub's done well when the burden has been placed on him to carry the offense. But right now, until teams can shut down Foster, they are a run first team it seems.Maybe this affects Schaub's rhythm from time to time. But I don't seen anythhing abnormal in Schaub's game to suggesthe's lost an edge compared to last year.

I'm more concerned about Schaubs sub-par play and turning to Foster.

Same here. Granted, in the league I have AJ, I also have Foster and Schaub, so if they keep running TDs in with Foster, I am fine with it, but Schaub has been extremely disappointing. He just doesn't look right. He is way off last year's pace (threw 29 TDs last year; is on pace for 20 this year), and in the league I have him, he has scored UNDER 10 fantasy points in five of his eight games, which is especially bad considering in that scoring system we get bonus points for longer TDs and certain yardage markers.

I just turned down a trade of me giving Mendenhall to get Andre in my .5ppr league, FWIW.
Similar situation here. In 0.5 PPR was offered Andre for Bradshaw and turned it down. Seemed like a wash value-wise but AJ's injury risk and Bradshaw's consistency tipped the scales.

AJ doesn't do push ups, he pushes the earth down.

FYI

Memo to Coaching staff and Schaub, understand above statement and study matt Ryan, which is throw to your stud no matter who else is open at least 15 times a game.

Iv seen him do it, was impressive to say the least. Don't know why he doesn't use the stiff arm more.

You know, if that would happen, it would be awesome. I guess we all only see things from our own side of the fences but as an AJ owner, I watch guys like Roddy, Nicks, Brandon lloyd, and such and think "AJ would be the beastliest beast that ever beasted if he had a QB that would throw to him like Ryan and Elie and ORton and these guys do". I can't imagine how nice it must be to have a guy on your FF team that you can watch the game and drool every single time the QB drops back.

is this for real? AJ has had 100+ and 1500 the past two seasons. I've watched every texans game and every time Schaub drops back I'm surprised it doesn't got to Dre. They just simply aren't passing as much this year.. however when they do, injury or not, AJ still has good games.

AJ has only caught 3 TDs this season, 2 of them were last minute desperation plays which saved the Texans from inminent losses (against Washington and KC)...last week he was only targeted 7 times, mostly at the end of the game and after they had blown the lead against the Chargers, again throwing out of desperation and against a defense totally commited to stoping the pass...could it be that Kubiak is going to be the last person to find out that the Texans D can't prevent them from losing...no lead is big enough against that horrible D, so as the saying goes "If you have a big cannon, fire it".....

Um. Did you watch last season? Didn't he lead the NFL in targets?

That was LAST season, I agree they should go back to what works better, which is last season.

Must be an AJ owner and not a Foster owner.

Well...it is not actually working in reality, because as of right now, Houston is not in the playoffs. I have to think that Kubiak is done if they do not make the playoffs with all the all pro talent they have. So while Kubiak may be jerking himself over the fact he has an all pro rb, he would be smart to utilize his passing game more seeing that it actually might win him games.

In fantasy football you don't own AJ, he owns you!

4-4 ain't working either, they just need to get better at what did last year, that means give the ball to AJ a little more. I'm tired of Foster dropping the ball in the Endzone.
