Angels close to signing Abreu (1 Viewer)

I'm very interested to see how the incentives are structured but on the surface, a $5M/1 yr. base deal for a bat like Abreu's is a relative bargain

Solid signing. Abreu can do everything Garret Anderson did, plus take walks and steal bases.
...and in Anaheim there won't be much of a leash on him while roaming the base paths. I think you can safely project a near repeat of his 07 + 08 numbers, maybe a slight downgrade in the counting stats. He'd bat 3rd, yes?

Its pretty sick how the market has fallen.
its pretty sick how high it was
The game was still profitable even with those pre-crash salaries.I'm not holding my breath to see whether lower payrolls will lead to reduced prices for tickets, concessions, parking, etc.
