Wanted to throw this opinion out there separate of all the other threads.
What Vick did was wrong. He made dogs fight. Due to dogs being domesticated, dogs don't have to fight for survival (there are exceptions). I'm sure at one point in the early days, dogs fought for survival. It's for dogs being domesticated that all Americans have a warm spot for these animals. They're great pets and very friendly animals. Hell even most pet owners now a days pick up there dogs #### (in the woods, forests, parks, etc.) whenever they go number 2 (why just limit yourself to picking up dog ####, why not start picking up squirrel droppings or duck nuggets? Lets make this planet a #### free one!! Who's with me?!?). Dogs get pampered, go to doggie day care, have regular doctor check ups, get groomed, have surgery, have play dates with other dogs, take insulin, etc. If aliens looked down on the USA, they would think dogs are the masters.
Putting all this into perspective let us not forget that Vick wasn't a rapist, drug dealer, murderer, etc. He didn't destroy someone's life or put a serious handicap on one. He served his time for what he did, which was a reasonable punishment. Just because Vick is one of the more popular players in the NFL shouldn't distract yourself away from a number of different players that have done extremely worse things than Vick. So why does he carry all the hatred and all the criticism?
For all you people who haven't gotten over what he did to some dogs (animals) despite how much you love your little fifi, it's time to move on and drop it. We have far worse NFL players than Vick and an even more populated society who are doing ten times worse things than what he did. Most of these people who rape and kill, a large number of liberals are fighting for them to have reduced sentences, not go on death row, and get second chances with government help. All the while being in favor of abortion. LOL!
I don't want this to turn into a political debate but for you people who can't get over this, it's time to start looking at the bigger picture and let it go. It's old. You can't hate him more now, now that he's back in the spotlight.
