When are you taking a QB this year? (1 Viewer)

This feels like the deepest QB room in fantasy.... maybe ever?

  1. Allen
  2. Mahomes
  3. Hurts
  4. Jackson
  5. Richardson
  6. Stroud
  7. Burrow
  8. Prescott
  9. Murray
  10. Purdy
  11. Love
  12. Lawrence
  13. Tua
  14. Stafford
  15. Goff
  16. Williams
  17. Daniels
That is insane depth! To think you could land a legit starter so late blows my mind. What is your strategy this year when it comes to QB? Are you still going QB relatively early to secure one of the top dogs? Are you holding off late until late to maximize value? Who are some of your preferable targets?

The sweet spot is the 8th round and further out

I do think Stroud can climb a lot higher, Year 2 and a new proven weapon to go along with a. couple others he already had....CJS could possibly land as the No 1 QB in FF
That said, no reason to reach...

Tua Tags/Goff is a nice combo I find myself grabbing in the 8th-9th rounds section, there's others you can mix and match
The weapons around Tua make him so much better than he really is but who cares as long as he can produce, I like him more in the beginning and middle section of his schedule.

Matt Stafford is severely undervalued this year with a healthy Kupp and Puka Nacua Year 2 lined up outside.
No Donald on Defense, they need to score to win, they can't sit back on their defense that often.

I think Kyler is going in the 7th or 8th and that is probably the time I start looking for a QB in redraft.

I am happy with Kyler, Dak, Jayden Daniels in that 7th-10th round. I'd likely take an Aaron Rodgers or Trevor Lawrence in addition to taking Jayden Daniels but that is just me hedging my bets.

I play only in a SF league so typically at least one in the first two rounds, sometimes two but likely not this year with the depth out there.

Caleb Williams & Jayden Daniels probably don't belong on that list. Far too many unknowns.

Justin Herbert is a huge omission and Aaron Rodgers should probably be on it along with DeShaun, Baker, Cousins and Kyler. Maybe at the bottom but certainly ahead of the rookies.

5th-7th round

Been playing with these guys for decades, so I know most years we'll still be on QB3 after Round 3. Then they start taking 2-3 per round until everyone has one, and backups start going in the 10th-11th.

That said, I've won 3 championships with WW QBs and last year with Goff (drafted late to backup Burrow.) It's full PPR with start 3 WR + Flex, so the strength of my teams are always elsewhere. I can't remember ever taking a Top 4 QB, taking Joe B (QB5 in 2023) was an aberration.

Last time I completely punted QB (2021) and waited until the 12th to take one, won 8 straight to end the season before losing in the Finals. By then I been on weekly streamer QBs for months lol.

I did a FFPC draft earlier today and jumped on Stroud round 5 … i was going to wait until the 6th … but In round 4 the QB panic was set off … I did another FFPC draft a month ago and took Josh Allen in the 3rd round and regret that move now comparing the 2 teams

I'm actually pretty in on Hurts or Allen. I think they offer a significant advantage over the guys below them. I think waiting on QB is an option, but I don't see the depth being all that great. Sure, you could land a top-10 guy late, but a top-10 guy might be 125+ points behind the top guys.

In the mocks I’ve done so far from multiple spots in a 12 teamer, I’m liking my results taking someone like Dak in the 6th. But the 6th in general is where I’ll likely take my QB in my long time redraft league

If Mahomes or Hurts makes it to mid to late 4th, I’m in. Otherwise, I will wait a couple more rounds for Kyler or Love. I’m also ok with waiting even more and getting 2 of Tua, Goff, Daniels, Lawrence.
