Anquan Boldin (1 Viewer)

Right now, Anquan Boldin is being drafted anywhere in the 8-10 rounds. For a guy who is very talented, and on a great team, this seems really low. What am I missing on this gu? I know he had a down year last year, and failed to catch over 5 balls in his last 6 games, but the team didn't add anyone other than Jacolby Jones. What does the shark pool think? Do his numbers go up and make him 5-6th round value, or is he destined to continue the decline?

Looks like Torrey Smith will be the deep threat and Boldin the possesion type.

The real issue is how much will they actully pass to support two startable FF wr's?

Sometimes the situation trumps the talent, thats Boldins problem

He was solid thru the middle of last season and then threw up a bunch of duds weeks 11-14 and was a ghost for the FF playoffs and battling injuries as well.

I see Boldin being a decent 10-15 per week in a lot of PPR formats, a good bye week filler, and a decent WR3 perhaps.

He's one of those guys that people seem to have forgotten about because they no longer put up gawdy WR1 or WR2 numbers. Instead each week they solidly put up 4 or 5 receptions for 50 or 60 yards. Reminds me of Derrick Mason at the end of his career. He won't win you your league, but he's a nice commodity to plug in there and get 10-15 pts or so when needed.

Smith has taken over the WR1 role on the team, but I think Boldin's drop off is exagerated. If I get the opportunity I'd gladly take him.

He's old and close to washed up. He is Donald Driver on a team that likes to run.
:goodposting:Also noteworthy that even the last 5-6 years when he was relatively healthy and younger he basically disappeared during stretches at the end of the year. Never a guy I wanted because I could never count on him during the playoffs. If you're in a deep enough league where he warrants consideration you have more expected value filling up on a bunch of 2nd year or rookie players hoping to hit gold. I consider him undraftable.

Hes good for at least 8 60+ yard play action touchdowns.

Seemingly the only pass Flacco can consistently throw.

Driver was still posting 1000+ yard seasons and was a low-end #2 WR when he was Boldin's current age.

What I liked about Boldin was his after the catch abilities. Baltimore just doesn't seem to do as many quick, short, underneath passes, that Arizona did. I don't think he too old yet, just not utilized the best. But then he has taken a beating and isn't quite as quick with some moves as he once was.

He had a hurt knee at the end of the season, had knee surgery the last few weeks, and came back strong in the playoffs.
