Anthony Gonzalez INDY WR (1 Viewer)

not even sure he's ahead of Blair White at this point
Ugh, that will make my MSU friend happy. On that note, if White passes Gonzo what is his upside? possibly WR2 for INDY?That might translate to WR3 for your fantasy team given Manning is throwing the rock.
How could White be WR2 for Indy when you have Wayne and Garcon? Not to mention Dallas Clark, so that makes him #4 in order of targets assuming he's ahead of Gonzalez, which I'm not so sure he is.Edited: I forgot about Collie, who I rank as #2 in targets when healthy.

Don't forget Collie...
Exactly...Gonzo-lite better be practicing "hands drills" for special teams versus route running if he wants to remain on the roster...in fact, Mr. Glass should just sit still for as long as possible.

Would make him the back-up to Wayne, Garcon, and Collie. I think he should be versed in all 3 positions after being pressed into duty. Since Garcon, Wayne, and Gonzo are in contract seasons, White would also be a good bet to have value 2012 & after

Hoss we have been point/counter point today in threads (always good to have on opposing view). Good point on Garcon and Wayne. I guess I'm not sold on Garcon. No chance anyone passes him up? Collie has his moments, Gonzo was drafted to do that and White has flashed.

I forgot about Collie, so move White down to #5. In my mind Collie is the #2 and Garcon #3 as far as targets for WRs go, but Clark is at least #2 or #3 in targets when healthy. So, ranking targets for the Colts I see as follows if everyone is healthy:1 - Wayne2 - Collie3 - Clark4 - Garcon5 - Gonzo / White, not sure which one

I doubt White's value is any better in future years than it is today barring injury to players ahead of him. I believe the Colts will draft Wayne's successor in 2012 and that means a 1st rd pick spent on a WR. The WRs should be deep again in 2012 draft.

I think White is clearly the value play here.....he proved he can play last year....manning liked him.....with the new concerns about concussions I have a hard time seeing Collie staying on the field after having 3 of them last year....I have a feeling Gonzo won't be all the wasy back to his glory days either....have a feeling White's ADP will increase as the season gets closer....now is the time to get him if you can

Gonzo had "glory days"? Just kidding. White may be worth a flier this year, but it's getting really crowded and I don't think the eventual winner of the competition is on the roster yet.

yeah...was just kind of referring to when he was pretty locked in as the third guy and was putting up startable numbers...so you're saying you don't think the INDY WR3 is on the roster?I would think that Collie has shown he can handle it when healthy and White also really proved he is capable as well.....let alone Gonzo hanging out in the wings....would seem that WR3 isn't a huge concern right now.....if you are talking long term WR1 and or WR2 thinking Wayne/Garcon go away or something then I would agree they maybe need more at those positions but WR3 does not seem to be something they need to address right now.....Collie or White seem very capable for the next few years.....

My poor fellow Buckeye has been plagued with injury. Is this the year he turns it around?
It may be, but with his injury issues, Collie (and his injury issues), Garcon (and his injury issues, ie, his hands), the unheralded White, the TE's etc..... If this is his year to shine it will be on someone else's roster because someone will grab him long before I would consider him a value. There are so many questions in Indy and any one of 4 or 5 wrs could be the one who emerges. Or none of them might emerge (ie, run most of the season without interruption - including the playoffs - as a starter). I prefer to shoot for players with a clearer path to playing time. Or to wait until there are signs off life before looking to the waiver wire.

I've got both White and Gonzalez on my dynasty roster and I have to make a couple cuts before our rookie draft. And right now I'm leaning towards Gonzo as one of those cuts.

Never easy, but chances are in your scenario, I'd be keeping White over Gonzo also. Past results are not guarantees of future performance, but White stayed on the field and (albeit easily argued only due to injuries and hence not permanent) was tracking upward for playing time/ff relevance.

Does anyone know the story from week 8 last year when he came back and played in the Monday night game vs. the Texans? He was targeted 6 times with 55 yards on 4 receptions. Then he never saw the field again in 2010?

Thought he was over-rated in college. Thought the Colts drafted him way too early. Think they should cut him.

You clearly weren't watching then. Only injury derailed his career. I saw Manning at the Pro Am of the Wachovia tourney after they drafted Gonzo and he couldn't say enough good things about him.

I never thought he was tough enough and his hands were unremarkable. He was fast and illusive, but he did not appear to me to be an NFL star. He was not that high on many rankings, the Colts reached.

Collie had two concussions last year, not three.I don't see White's ADP increasing much prior to the season. He's a waiver wire pickup if others get injured, IMO. I still see Collie as the big value, especially if he stays healthy. Here's a guy who was on a pace to be a top 3 WR by year's end, and you can get him pretty late (or cheaply in an auction). He has said he feels great... I would venture that if he emerges from preseason without injury, his stock will increase a good bit.Gonzo? Hard to say where he will fit in this year. My guess is he has better talent than White, but obviously he is an injury risk. I would probably prefer to withhold judgment on him until I see him in a few preseason games.
