Antonio Gates achilles injury? (1 Viewer)

Aug 20 Casey Pearce, of Chargers.com, reports San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (Achilles') did not practice Monday, Aug. 20, due to a sore Achilles' tendon. The injury is not believed to be serious.

Brian Dawkins missed almost 3 weeks of camp with Achilles tendinitis, yet was running around like a madman today and looked like he hasn't lost a step. I wouldn't be concerned, at least not yet.

Sounds like inflammation of the preseason-sucks tendon or possibly a strained i'm-done-with-training-camp muscle

LOL ya, I am hoping it is of that variety. I couldnt believe he fell to me at 3.1 now was worried my luck was changing.

Not a word on either of the local San Diego boards I frequent. I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over this.

"Tight end Antonio Gates, linebacker Anthony Waters and safety Eric Weddle returned to practice after taking all or part of Monday off. Defensive end Igor Olshansky (groin), nose tackle Brandon McKinney (ankle) and linebacker Matt Wilhelm (calf) remained sidelined..."

A few of us have witnessed way too many training camps. I agree that it's very much as stated in the quote above. Most of these injuries seem to subside once two-a-days stop too....Oh to be a veteran with a LOCK on your position.

At least not until after you have drafted him and he is listed as doubtful in week 1.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The guy's a vet. He knows what he's doing. He decided to take a day off and chillax a little. More power to him. TC is brutal. Maybe he will have a sore I-don't-want-to-go-into-the-regular-season-worn-out-tendon later this week?
