Any 2013 or newer Accord drivers.... (1 Viewer)

Football Menace

Wife wants to trade in her SUV for a 2015 Honda Accord. I've been looking at the EX-L w/ nav and I think they are damn fine machines. Only thing I can't make up my mind on is it worth the extra 2k-3k for the v6? On the one hand, my wife probaby won't be able to tell the difference. But I'll also drive the car 30% of the time when out with the family, etc. Anyone happy with/regret purchasing one over the other?

From my experience it's a pretty easy decision. Do you enjoy the pep that a 6 cylinder will give you? If you are like me and have totally passed the point in life where going fast is a thrill, the gas mileage may be of more benefit, assuming that it is significant. plus throw in the cheaper cost overall and I think it's a no-brainer.

My advice is to test drive the 4 cylinder and see if it's spunky enough for you. If so, save the money.

I have an older Accord than that but think it still applies - you get a lotmore acceleration but actually comes with a bit lower gas mileage as well.

The v6 is quite a bit more fun but not sure it was worth it but I say that without test driving the v4 recently. As shader said if the v4 is fun enough then go with it.

Pros: only $2k more, nearly 50% more HP and torque, dual exhaust, LED daytime running lights, easier to sell

Cons: ~5 mpg less

Test drove both the i4/v6. And while the i4 has a sufficient amount of power/pickup, the v6 just feels totally different, much more powerful. Hard to describe. V6 feels heavier; engine is quieter. When the a/c cuts on/off in the i4 you can feel the car vibrating. In the v6, you can feel that.
