Any baseball players here? (1 Viewer)

Any college or high school baseball players here? I was wondering if there are any equipment that I can purchase online that could help practice my swing speed, contact, power, etc. in my backyard? (without breaking anything of course)

Woz is AA, borderline AAA talent, but he's going to law school instead of playing pro ball.He can probably help.

Tons of those ads advertised in Baseball America. (If you're a serious high school/college player I'd recommend subscribing). Also check out Baseball Express. More important than swing speed is having a short swing. Be "short to and long through" and you're on your way. Long swings get exposed the higher up you go.

1. RIBS TO KNEES - KNOW YOUR ZONE.

2. SHORT STRIDE, FAST HANDS.

3. TOP HAND OVER TO PULL, TOP HAND UNDER FOR OPPO.

4. WEIGHT BACK, EXPLODE ON STRIDE.

You want quick? Get a barbell and take cuts with it...not lazy cuts, quick decisive cuts. Repeat.

Throw your hands at the ball - the bat will follow your hands.

Practice, practice, practice.

That's all I got. Good luck. You have now graduated the Mr. Know-It-All 9-10 year old hitting clinic.

I bought one of these for my players a few years ago while I was coaching college kids and they loved it. Now my three year old uses it every day. It's a great tool for the backyard and is not too expensive. Solohitter
