Any leagues use non-live MFL auctions? (1 Viewer)

I play in an auction keeper league that uses MFL as the hosting site. We've always done live auctions in the past, but have invariably either had bad experiences with software/websites, or had a hard time getting all owners to agree on a draft day/time.

Anybody play in an auction league that uses the non-live auction bidding process on MFL? I play in a couple Zealot leagues that use the system for offseason free agent bidding, but have never played in a league that uses it for their primary draft.

If you're in a league that does this, I'd be interested to know how it's working out for you, and how you structure the whole thing as far as putting players up for auction, time limits, etc etc.

Thanks.

16 team league 35 man rosters.

We do a slow auction with 16 hour timers. If a higher bid is entered the timer resets. The high bid has to stand for the full 16 hours.

Each team gets to put one player up for auction at a time. Initial names are put up based off a first come first serve basis. Once the player a team nominated is won, that team gets to put up another player.

Probably the most enjoyable 3 weeks of the football off season for me.

All of my auction leagues are the slow variety. I love the time to evaluate strategy and not be so reactionary like in a live auction. Best 2-3 Weeks of my year every August. It is not for everyone as some owners in the leagues would prefer a quicker format. High bids reset the timer, so it works around everyone's schedule.

We do exactly like treat88 described since the owners in our league are literally all over the world. I love it.

Awesome ... many thanks for the replies. Definitely gives me a clear vision of how things will pan out and how long they would take.

I, too, am a fan of the slow draft from time to time. Sometimes to quick-paced live is fun because it catches people napping, but the slow one gives you something to look forward to for weeks.

Ditto the above responses...24 hour timer that resets after a new high bid has been established. The "slow" auction is a total blast. Sitting in front of the screen and deciding whether to bump I really don't want another buck is excruciatingly fun. (BTW...when in doubt don't bump...you end up screwing yourself)

Best of luck. You'll enjoy it!
