Any one else holding on to Favre just to see if Rice makes a differenc (1 Viewer)

I have Farve rostered and yes there are better options on the waiver wire (not much better though) But I have been holding out hope that he turns it around and returns to the QB he was one season ago. Last week was a start in the right direction but of coarse it was the Arizona defense he was up against. Sydney Rice returns this week in some capacity although they are saying he will get limited playing time. How does this bode for Bret Farve ? Do you see him turning it around now or is the situation hopeless?

Why would you go this far with Favre only to dump him the week his best wr comes back? Rice could make a huge difference down the stretch.

He looked pretty darn good against the Cardinals. Granted, they haven't been all that stout against the pass but Favre made some great throws and had a huge game. Harvin is playing at a stud-like level, Berrian showed a pulse, Shiancoe can still play and Rice could be back this week. We need to see how effective Rice will be but if he's even 80% of what he was last season the Vikings' offense could finally get going on a consistent basis.

Looking at their remaining schedule, I see only three potentially troublesome matchups:

Week 10: vs. Green Bay

Week 14: vs. NY Giants

Week 16: at Philadelphia

The Packers haven't always fared well in Minnesota and it's worth noting that despite the 3 INTs in the first game Favre had one TD pass incorrectly taken away from him which would have left him with 2 TDs and a decent amount of passing yardage. I'm not convinced the Eagles are a shutdown crew but on the road that could be tricky. The Giants look like a very tough matchup if their defense continues to play at its current level.

I think a lot rides on how Rice can perform but I think Favre has a shot to be a Top 10-12 QB the rest of the way if everything falls in line. That said, very little has fallen in line for the Vikings this season.
