Any other SJAX owners outraged? (1 Viewer)

I owned SJAX last year so I should have seen this coming. I endured a pedestrian first 6 weeks last year and complained relentlessly that the Rams were giving up on the run too quickly. The second half of the season they seemed to figured it out, Jackson gets stronger and more effective as the game goes on. Jackson has admitted that he wants more touches in the 4th quarter.

What happens yesterday, St. Louis is down 4 points going into the 4th quarter and what do they do. They give SJAX ONE rushing attempt the whole quarter. They are so freaking predictable it makes me sick.

Why are they so quick to give up on Jackson? Another example 3rd and 2 in a 4 down situation and they throw 2 passes?? Come on, if you're really concerned about getting the 1st down you give it to the guy who can get it, don't rely on Bulger.

All I'm saying is that if they continue to coach like this (like they did to start the season last year), there are going to be many unhappy people who took SJAX with the #2 pick.

Maybe he should hold onto the ball better.
bingo
Maybe, but still no excuse to stop running the ball.
Maybe? He handed the game to the Panthers on silver platter.
"He" handed them the game?1st fumble the Panthers still had to go 68 yds to score so I guess that Steve Smith TD was SJAX fault? He's the one who got burned?2nd fumble resulted in ZERO Carolina points.FACT- after the 2nd fumble they were down 1 point with 7 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter and they only attempted 2 runs the final 22 minutes of the game. That my friend, is pathetic. The play calling sucked!

Earlier in the game they had a first and goal inside the 5 IIRC and 2 rushes produced nothing, only a Bulger to Holt connection saved them from a FG. Sp I guess they did go with the guy who can get it done and didn't rely on Jax who couldn't, despite his stellar 3 ypc.And Bulger is one of the best QBs in the league and he has Holt and Bruce. That's a trio of potential HoFers. If Bulger can't get it done I'd like to see who could. Jackson fumbled twice and was having a bad game by his standards. If anything I am surprised that they didn't throw the ball to him more, but again he had butterfingers yesterday. McMichael's absence is more notable than SJax's.

I am 110% positive that the coaches are completely unconcerned with all you guys that took SJ at #2. It's one game, relax. LT had a bad game too and no one is giving up n him. Sj's a beast and will get his.

 you fumble twice you don't deserve tons of carries. It was week 1. I'm not worried. LT and LJ sucked it up too.
Only difference is that San Diego continued to give LT the ball. They didn't attempt only 2 rushes the final 22 minutes of the game.If your guy fumbles you don't give up on him and become one demensional. It was when they became one demensional that they blew the game. Again, they were only down by 1 point when they abandonded the run.

if you had him last year, he was a relative bargain

if you got him this year, he will be a relative bust

if you had him last year, you know he was the STL dumping ground

this year they may try to spread it around

if I owned him I'd be upset too

hey, I own Maroney and he clearly wasn't playing the role of the single back yesterday..oh well, we all get shafted to some degree :kicksrock:

not so sure that Bulger is a HOF

Ram fans.....always delusional. When will they get the fact that without a D they will never win anything....most over-rated team in the NFL the last few years. They will get ##### slapped to the tune of 30 pts almost every game....if the Panthers (with one O playmaker) scored 30 on them, what will the other teams do?

Problem with SJAX he's rusty..Rams keep him out of games in preseason like LT with Chargers (afraid he might get hurt).

Now since it was week1 Rams go by a pace..pass first run second until they are in a groove..problem about that pace now is..PACE is out for the year...ut-oh

I'm glad he had a bad game. Every year these guys all have some bad games. At least he got his out of the way week 1 and I will still chalk up a win. If he went totally off, I would have been pissed that it was wasted.

Not even in the same hemisphere.

Hopefully better than what the Bears offense is capable of.

Each year everyone puts Bulger in the "top 5" of fantasy QB's. In my opinion he is totally overrated and will NEVER see the HOF unless he decides to visit when Faulk goes in.The problem with St. Louis is they think they can win games by passing 1st, they can't.I think all would agree that SJAX is the kind of back who gets better with more carries, when he's able to wear down D's.2 rushes in the final 22 minutes is not enough. What that did was turn a game they were capable of winning into a loss.

I think he said potential. It's not like he's saying Jeff Garcia or Trent Green are HOF potentials. Bulger is only 30 with 16,000 and 96 TDs.He's got 6 or 7 more years in him... in that offense. A lot can happen. If he gets to 38,000 yards (3,500 a year with some tailing off and/or injury included), throws for 21 TDs a year, which isn't much... that puts him in the current Top 15, but by then the Top 20 in both categories. In any case, with Pace out.... Bulger will be under pressure often. SJax didnt' get 90 receptions running post routes. He was outlet, he became a #1 or #2 target as the season wore on, but the bulk of his action will occur once again due to the phenomena of Bulger not wanting to get decapitated.

Reposting this because I just don't understand the play calling?????

Their offense is becoming WAY to predictable, last week they were down 1 with 23 minutes to play AFTER his fumbles and he only rushed the ball 2 times in 23 minutes. This week in a close game he gets only 5 rushes in the last 18 minutes, and they aren't even targeting him in the passing game.

I just don't understand why you would take your best player out of the game?

it's the offensive line, brother. they can't make a hole for the guy. the only successful gains he had today were busted plays or fake quick outs that would help freeze the linebackers. bottom line is they are in serious trouble up front. they were passing because they were so ineffective running.

This guy's going to end up costing me my league.Yeah, I know: :goodposting:
I hear ya, his performance cost me a win this week. All my other players showed up but Jackson just doesn't get the ball in the 4th quarter.
Whoever the offense coordiantor is needs to be removed. Bulger is getting killed out there and on top of that you take SJAX out of the game. No wonder they can't buy a win.

Heh, I was cursing Linehan's play calling last year when I owned Holt.

Seemingly every time Bulger went back to pass, he'd look deep to Holt and dump it off to Jackson. :goodposting:

I had Holt last year and SJax this year. I'm not even considering moving Jackson, but I am starting to get worried. With my other RBs being Henry and Portis (sweet right?) I'm considering benching him till I see the Rams pick it up. Figure I might miss out on production from him from that first week they get the kinks worked out, but I'll save myself the frustration of single digit weeks up until that point.

The Rams offense is a mess, period. The OL is decimated, lousy play calling, and I hate to say it, SJax looks tentative to me. Too much skittering behind the line. Just hit the damn hole SJ. I saw at least 4 or 5 carries where he missed the hole completely and ended up sliding along the line hoping to bounce it outside. He's a strong runner and needs to stop acting like a scat back. With that said, the horrible play calling doesn't give SJax a chance to find a rhythm either. Just plain BAD.

I was at the game yesterday. While the play calling wasn't great, Jackson can't break a tackle to save his life. The first guy to touch him brings him down almost every time.
