Anybody play for anything in week 17? (1 Viewer)

We have $5 per owner go into a pot for this week and each team submits a lineup and high score takes the pot (14 teams so it isn't a bad payout). We call it the Pro Bowl even though half the players don't play the full game, at least makes it worth watching.

Help me out. Are all the playoff teams locked in with the exception of the teams battling for the sixth seed? Just wondering.

We have a pro bowl also. 12 team league, 3 divisions. The division with the highest total score splits $100, each team get $25. No separate fee for pro bowl week. We have a $120 entry fee, $2 fee for every player added through waivers/trade, and $75 max per team for blind bidding; so there is plenty of cash in the pot to spare $100 and make week 17 interesting for everyone.

We have a ProBowl in our league too. $100 goes to the winner. Start any 3 players on your team regardless of position. High score takes the pot.

We do ODT...Original Drafted Team.

Basically you start the team that you drafted. Your highest drafted QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D. Injuries or not.

Some teams come in with 3-4 healthy players. Some others are good

Winner gets $50

I have a few ESPN leagues with buddies from college as well as one Yahoo league where the season goes through Week 17. It's silly really, and historically the guys who win are those astute (and fast on the draw) enough to pick up those Week 17 replacements and have the cojones to start them.

Total points league here and we have some close races.

It makes for an exciting, but unpredictable, final week.

Every year my two leagues (keeper & re-draft) waver on if Week 17 is a good enough week to have the Championship Game, and this year we decided to move it to Wk 17. We were convinced last season after few teams sat starters in Wk 17. Of course, this year has convinced us to move next year's title game back to Wk 16.

Plenty of trades...but you still play with your ODTWe just basically do it to get someone, anyone, a shot a winning something.

My league calls Week 17, "Challenge Week". We open free agency back up (it's locked during the playoffs) and the entire week is just filled with people challenging each other. Naming rights can be on the line or it can be as simple as two rivals wanting to go at it one more time. As commish, I sanction several matches including the league champion versus the toilet bowl winner. And the best part is that we play best ball format in Week 17. That means that you get your best possible starting line up regardless who is on the bench. That helps take care of the problems that people incur in Week 17 when teams bench their starters. Between best ball format and the ability to pick up players in free agency, it works well for everyone.

We've been doing something for years which always generates a good response:

The Bizarro Bowl

The object is to use your current roster (no WW moves) to field a lineup that you think will score the FEWEST number of points. The winner ends up with the #2 choice of draft pick.

Adds a nice bit of interest to Week 17 games, esp. when it comes to guys who may or may not sit.

In our 10-team (2 5-team divisions) dynasty league, we have a Pro Bowl between the divisions. The runners-up in each division have to select the best 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, and TE from the rosters of their division's teams, but they must select two players from each team. A kicker and D/ST can be picked from any roster in the division. The division that loses the Pro Bowl has to find a venue for the next year's draft and pay for the food and beverage.

We do a "Free for all". No starting lineups are submitted. Total points in week 17 for your entire 14 man roster as it stood at season's end. High scorer wins half the waiver/trade pot, usually around $125 or so.
