Anyone benching Greg Jennings this week? (1 Viewer)

Jennings has had a great past couple of weeks and is finally looking like a WR1 again. But Revis eats WR1 for breakfast, and it looks like he's back to 100% health again. Anyone know if he'll be covered by Revis or Cromartie?

I could be wrong, but Revis hasn't been shadowing one receiver each game to the best of my memory. He sees to be staying on one side. I think fi you have Jennings, you play him, regardless.

this "are you sitting WRx against Revis" stuff is overblown... The Jets are below average against the pass this year, I wouldn't hesitate to start anyone vs. them.

Hes the best option in a good passing attack......they will get him the ball Revis or not

Plus revis could always take a chance at a pick while jennings triple moves him for a deep td

Call me a blind Packers homer, but I never, ever sit Jennings.
LOL why? His 69 catches for 1100 yards and 4 TDs last year got you all excited? Or is it the 7 targets a game or less than 4 catches per game average this year?
No, I think its more the fact that most 12 team league (start 3 WR) rosters don't have 3 guys better than Jennings to start on any given week. I guess I could see sitting him if Dwayne Bowe was your WR4, but most people dont have that luxury.

I would start someone like Lance Moore easily over Jennings this week. Following the herd mentality does not help you win FF championshipsI am fully prepared to bench either or both Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne if I get to the FF championship because they get Oak and Denver (freaking Asomugha and Champ B). The #s do not lie. Those CBs shut down WRs most of the time to the tune of 2 catches 23 yards. And offenses game plan around them and go to their TE, RB, #2 WR etc

Let me just say, that as a guy playing against Jennings in a big divisional matchup....I was VERY happy to see that Jennings is facing the Jets. While he might still go 5rec, 80 yds & a TD, a blowup game with 10+ catches or multiple TD's or 150 yds is highly unlikely. I think he is more likely to put up 2-15 type numbers than go over 100. As an opponent I like it.

I have some choices to make this weekend. Was thinking about leaving Jennings on the bench for either Britt or Evans. Don't know if I will do it but Jennings against Revis does scare me a little and Britt and Evans have been on a tear.

I do believe in Revis Island. Even so Antonio Cromartie is better than most teams 1st corner so Jennings is going to have a challenge, regardless.

However, my only other option besides Jennings would be Patrick Crayton so I am still leaning Jennings.

Didn't realize how very average they've been so far. The Jets are currently 22nd overall in Passing Defense right behind Detroit and Arizona. They've allowed 10 TD's in 6 games and have just 5 INT's. The only statistic they have success in on passing defense is completion percentages. They're only allowing 49.5 passes thrown on them to be caught.

This really comes down to 2 issues.

1. Will Revis be healthy (all signs point to yes)

2. Will a healthy Revis be as good as the 2009 edition (?????)

Last year, a healthy Revis was dominant, and he consistently shut down every receiver he faced. However, we have no idea what kind of game plan the Jets will use, or even if they'll have Revis isolate on Jennings, or just have Revis and Cro take sides of the field. Cromartie has been playing very well, but the's also given up yards. I'd say start Jennings unless you have some fantastic alternative.

I am starting him but I am hammered by byes this week and don't have any other decent options. Not expecting a game. If I get 8-10 points in a non-PPR I would be happy.

ESPN (via the fantasy show) is saying that not only is Revis healthy, but that he's going to follow Jennings all over the field. This isn't how the Jets usually do it, but I have serious concerns about Jennings if that is true.

I don't have any great options, so I'm really on the fence. Did anyone hear what Sal Pal said (I believe they said that's who reported it) or have more info?

(Rotoworld) According to Jets beat writer Manish Mehta, Jets CB Darrelle Revis will not shadow Packers WR Greg Jennings in Week 8.

Analysis: Revis is expected to shadow Donald Driver, with Antonio Cromartie covering Greg Jennings. Cromartie shut down Randy Moss, a similar receiver to Jennings in terms of big play ability, for three quarters in Week 5. Jennings comes in as a solid WR1 for Week 8.

Hmm. That's from today as well. Someone is wrong. I think I'm going to go with Jennings...with a complete lack of confidence.
