Anyone catch the ESPN Fantasy Draft last night? (1 Viewer)

8 team redraft and these guys have an injury expert talking, their fantasy expert (Berry I think) as well as a couple commentators. Erik Kusilieasislesasse was the MC.

In the third round Hoge takes Matt Hasslebeck. They have Tim Hasslebeck commentating. Tim laughs at Hoge and tells him that his brother would've been there for him in the 6th. Not sure why I thought it was so funny but I almost laughed outloud.

I don't understand what ESPN is thinking with this show. They want to position themselves as fantasy football experts, but then air shows like this. They supposedly have an army of fantasy writers at ESPN but have a draft with Merril Hoge, Method Man, and Nick Bakay. I don't get it. Not only that they have an 8 team draft (who the **** plays in an 8 team league). They have no idea how to draft. What a joke. How do you position yourself as being a credible source of information and put out **** like this. That is why I come to this site.

It was on at my gym last night. I found it very entertaining. No fantasy value whatsoever but I was crackin up through most of it. Like Summer Sanders taking Lynch at 8 which I thought was pretty good and then at the turn taking Romo ahead of Manning. We get it, Summer, you have a thing for Romo...

I'd agree with you on most of these guys, but at least Bakay is a Serious Player . IMO, he generally doesn't screw around. He basically acts like a shark in a pond of guppies.

Don't most of us have a thing for Summer? :lmao:

Of course I do. Doesn't mean I'm using my second round pick in my draft next week on her.

You mean you're not having a Babe Draft next week? ;)

Good for Bakay. Matt Damon plays fantasy football as well, I could care less what his opinion is. The point is, why employ all of these "fantasy experts" and then hold a draft with a bunch of randoms.

Romo over Manning wasn't so terrible. And while I disagreed Lynch at the 8 spot it's at least a justifiable grab.

But some of those other picks were simply asinine. I agree they need to get some experts...put one of the writers on the show who has a solid screen presence. But please, please, please get the likes of Method Man and Merril Hodge off the show.

This is how starved for fantasy football television we are...as terrible as this show is a lot of us still watch. Why doesn't some other station actually show a quality show? Instant audience!!

Agreed. If I were in a position to use something on Summer, it certainly wouldn't be a fantasy football draft pick . . .

I was sitting next to my wife critiquing this "draft", telling her what they were doing wrong.

She gave me the :excited:

I deserved it.

But the draft was a complete trainwreck. :yucky:

I'm not worked up about. Just like to take my shots at the "World Wide Leader" any chance I get. As good as ESPN was early in their day for sports, they jumped the shark years ago.

I think I remember DTV having one a few years ago with Adam Kaplan and someone else. I thought it was good info, if a bit dry. Probably why it got canned. Maybe we can petition the Audible with Cecil "Fatal Attraction" Lammey to go Prime Time TV?

for most participants, fantasy football is a fun little diversion, not a passion.

the show wasn't geared to appeal to nerds like us.

it was fun, whatever.
