Anyone do Lineup Deadlines at 1st game of that week (1 Viewer)

Our Commish has this and it just doesn't seem right to lock lineups at the first game of that week. Seems like locking at kickoff of that players game is the best option, no?

There are a lot more Thur games this season and you know you'll be waiting for GTD/Injury/Starter info to come in early Sun. Does anyone use the First Game of the Week deadline still? Does it take the fun out of jockeying up to the last minute on your lineup? I'm going to try and start a revolt against this but wanted to get opinions on it.

I want those 3 days bgetween Thur and Sun. to process info on who to start.

I get bent out of shape that one of my leagues locks at 1PM Sunday, evn for late games, MNF, etc, so I'd probably be livid at a Thursday deadline this week. Especially since there's still some situations up in the air right now, like the Portis/Betts situation, the Raiders starting QB which affects their WRs, etc.

Hope you don't have too many game time decisions to deal with this week...

We revised that rule 2+ years ago. Thursdays games are new to the NFL, about two seasons, if not last season being the first. Get everyone in the league to vote and adjust. It makes zero sense to penalize owners for last minute scratches or starts because a crappy rule. Its the reason we have bench players, to substitute injured or bye week players.

Thanksgiving is a Thursday.

All my leagues are before gametime. I like this. Propose a vote to your league.

My league used to do this, but we changed it. Doesn't make sense to have to have everything in before the first game

In this day and age, the rule to have roster lockdowns before the first game is completely ridiculous. Back in the day when the commish had to paper/pencil everything perhaps, but, I mean...its computers now.

We still use it in one of my leagues. Owners have suggested we change it, but no one has taken the initiative to bring it to a formal vote. I don't mind it that much as my lineup is usually set pretty early on, but there have been weeks when I have had to make a tough call. I look at it this way...we all play under the same restriction so we all benefit or suffer from the rule. Now a guy with Westbrook or Portis as their best RB might have a tougher time, but that just makes drafting and trading so important. Perhaps dealing Westy for a Rudi and some throw in value might make sense for a nervous owner.

It isn't an ideal situation, but like I said we all have to work under the rule so it is fair in that regard.
