Anyone draft/drafting JStewart AND DeWilliams? (1 Viewer)

There is no risk grabbing either of them. Even in a RBBC they make a decent RB2 and a solid flex player. If one gets hurt then the other one becomes a stud.
DeAngelo will never be stud. Stewart most definitely will be.
 Really? What exactly is it about his dazzling play that makes this so definitive?

:hophead:
Coming into his 3rd year in the NFL, i would have expexcted to see more studliness ability by now. I haven't seen it and neither have his coaches.1. couldnt overtake Foster in 2 years (this has got to tell you something)

2. never carried the ball more than 145 times in a single NFL season.

3. dances to much at the line

4. Fox seemingly doesn't love him, but does love a power run game, like Stewart brings.

5. terrible blocker - cant handle linebackers in single coverage assignments

6. not ideal rb size
So, basically ignore 2008?
I just dont think we are ever going to see that studliness that memphis fans saw. Maybe he was overworked in college. I don't know, but i just know Stewart is winning that job.

I see 50/50. I also see DeAngelo moving on to greener pastures when he gets the opportunity. The numbers he's put up when he was allowed to play are beyond ridicule. 4.6 YPC? 120+/2 TDs in his only start? 7.2 YPC this preseason? Not exactly the look of a guy who's going to be getting splinters this season or beyond.

maybe not splinters, but the greener pastures won't be in Carolina as you allude too....Don't get me wrong, i think DeAngelo probably deserves to start somewhere, but I dont see him as a stud. Stewart is a flithy pig who will be a top 5 pick next year (IMO)

I agree with you on Stewart. I specifically targetted him in my dynasty league and I'm glad I did. However, his touches will be limited so long as a guy as gifted as DeAngelo is on that roster. It's not an Adrian Peterson situation where the team will be choosing between a spectacular rookie and a "3 yards and a cloud of dust" vet. DeAngelo has showed he can score from anywhere on the field, whenever he touches the ball. No coach in his right mind would keep a player like that off the field. If he has 2 guys like that, he will use both. Also, Fox has sang praises about Williams' new approach this year, and that can't be ignored, and somewhat make irrelevant your weighting of 2006-2007. Again, I'll call 50/50 and a sure top 5 RB only if one or the other gets injured. DeAngelo arguably offers more 2008 redraft value when Stewart is going so early while DeAngelo slides to the 6th-9th rounds. You'd need Stewart to live up to a 3rd round pick; not so with DeAngelo... he'd just be a potential difference maker at his going price, which is exactly the type of guy I want to target late.

I grabbed them both in a 12 team PPR league.

Williams at 5.11 (too high, but only had 1 RB at the time)

Stewart at 8.2, good value I'd say

RBs taken in b/n: Ronnie Brown, Rudi Johnson, Chris Johnson, Lendale White, Chester Taylor, Matt Forte (by me). Chris Johnson is the only guy I think I'd have taken over DeAngelo if I did it over again.
