Anyone else afraid to keep Lundy? (1 Viewer)

I have had Lundy sitting on my bench all season. He finally puts up some #s this weekend. I've been hoping he'd get a shot and provide me some depth at RB. now that he has I'm afraid to hang on to him. I've been approached by a few teams that need a RB and I could use some help at QB.

Anyone else wanting to keep him like I do, but afraid to for fear that he'll just disappear next week and be worthless again?

Picked him off waivers last week. Wish I hadn't bc now he's shown too much to cut him and I need to pick up a Defense.

I'm going to try to move him this week. If I can't, no big deal. He is great value as a RB5 and if he keeps putting up #s someone is going to want him before the trading deadline.

Seek ye the Portis owner. :D

I haven't gotten any offers, although I'm holding on in my keeper league. He may turn out to be nothing, or he could be the reincarnation of Domenick Davis.

I'm facing the same struggle. With Hass going down I need to make a move for a QB (Frye is my backup), but I sure would like to have some RB depth as well. I'm really torn.

What has me intrigiued is he did it vs. an excellent defense.
Good point. As noted in other threads, it looks like Kubiak deactivated Lundy since he didn't want to overwhelm the kid, so maybe he's got some game after all.

keep him?

I am afraid to start him but just might do it. He has TEN this week; 7th most fantasy pts vs RB in my league.

"I don't get too caught up in the starter thing, but he's definitely going to play (more)," coach Gary Kubiak said. "He stepped up and played well.

"As well as he played, I can show him where he left about 60 yards out there."

Afraid to start him?I'm looking forward to benching Edge this week in favour of Lundy

I got Lundy and C Houstin of waivers in a DEEP dynasty league last week. Im giving him 2 years :) We carry 38 on the roster. I have offered him to teams that have VERY little at RB and they dont seem interested. We start 3 RB's and a flex so most teams are short.

Dropped Lundy in week 3 and he stayed on the wire until I just picked him up again. My #4 RB in a redraft (again). He might not find a start for me, but I'm glad to get him back in my depth, just in case. It would be real nice if he continues to produce.

Jax is 12th against the rush. Not excellent. Not bad.
What does that mean? Without knowing Jax opponents this is the worthless stat of the day. They may be 12th against the rush and have played the top 6 rush offenses. But those may be the top 6 rush offenses because they have played bad rush defenses. Worthless worthless worthless stat. Fact Jax has a top notch defense. Period.

I liked enough about what I saw that I'll prob. deal Foster and make Lundy my RB4. Unless of course Lundy puts together enough good games to exceed Foster's value then I would trade Lundy.

If I were forced to I would feel not-so-bad about playing Lundy this week vs. TEN.

On average, their opponents are ranked 14th rushing the ball. They started off great; tops in the league the first three weeks. However, their last three games, they've given up 152, 132, and 131 to the 7th, 13th, and 30th ranked rushing attacks, respectively.

Super stat.

jax defense isn't good if it doesn't start marcus stroud. their entire defense relies on those two guys. and they're already missing a DE and mike peterson. darius isn't going to do too much if he has a G in his face.

Lundy could not prevent Alvin Pearman (!) from taking his job at Virginia.

Could not prevent Dayne (!!!) and Gado (!) from taking his job in early '06.

Jax defense is very poor vs. the run w/o Stroud and Peterson.

Sell Lundy. Even if he starts the rest of the season, he will be pedestrian, and they will address the position in the offseason.

I’m intrigued with him too. My league limits us to 4 RBs. I currently have Norwood and Turner on my bench with McGahee on bye this week and Westbrook on bye next week. Lundy is currently on our WW. If he remains the starter, he could help me through these next two weeks.

His remaining schedule appears to be very favorable especially at playoff time. Another thing that appears to be in his favor is the fact that Kubiak kept him deactivated long enough to possibly keep him from hitting that rookie wall at the end of the season.

He`s young and explosive and runs like he has something to prove....worth a flyer IMO. (besides,he`s gonna just sit on my bench in case i need him ;) )

Lundy to Play More --

Tue Oct 24, 2006 --from FFMastermind.com

The Houston Chronicle reports Texans rookie RB Wali Lundy rushed for 93 of the team's 131 yards that it gain against the Jaguars. The Texans entered the game ranked last in the NFL in rushing with an average of 67 yards a game. "I don't get too caught up in the starter thing, but he's definitely going to play (more)," HC Gary Kubiak said. "He stepped up and played well. As well as he played, I can show him where he left about 60 yards out there."

Seems kind of odd that they won't name Lundy the starter. His 4.2 YPC is far better than Gado and Dayne, who are both below three yards a carry.Any thoughts on this guy for PPR?

Sounds like Kubiak believes Lundy is the best option, but doesn't want to heap too much praise and/or overwhelm him.

But didn't Lundy once score four touchdowns in a game for Polk High?
No, that was Bundy....Al Bundy. Greatest player I ever saw. (Smoking hot daughter, too)As far as Wali is concerned, he has three things going for him:1) He's New Jersey born and bred2) Played for an ACC school3) Has nothing but worthless slugs to beat out for the starting job the rest of this season

Lundy = This season's most over-hyped and over-manloved fantasy player. Lundy is to this forum what T.O. is to ESPN.

Unless you have very large roster spaces, i'd say you can do better.

Dont get too excited about Lundy rushing well against a "great defense"... Their best DT Stroud was out, and their stud middle linebacker, Peterson, has been lost for the year.

Any team missing their best players on defense would be hurt, but when its the strength in the middle the problems stopping the run become even worse. (Think Baltimore 2005)
