Anyone else bench V. Jackson? (1 Viewer)

Are you kidding me? This is what drives me crazy about Fantasy Football. Almost every site you go to says Vincent Jackson will do nothing against that Raiders D. You bench him, and he goes off in the FIRST HALF!! Of course I benched him in 2 Leagues that I need to win in to get into the playoffs!

Tell me the truth, would any of you guys played him tonight?

And don't give me any of that "play your studs" crap. Jackson is no stud!

My bad decision making does not bode well for the rest of my teams.

How can you keep this from happening??

Sorry for the rant but I am just so frustrated!!!!

Any and all replies are greatly appreciated.

 
Benched him for Lance Moore in the FSWA insiders playoffs. Couldnt afford back to back goose eggs...

hopefully for those of us that benched him, SD will run the ball more in the 2nd half.

I benched him for Cotchery in hopes of a Favresque shootout

 
Let it go. Be thankful your not playing against him. It is better that he is on your bench than on anothers roster. It is a strategic move on your part, denying your opponent those points and lowering Chambers, Gates and LTs potential points as well.

This is what I will be repeating to myself, the entire weekend anyway.

 
I sat Jackson for what looked like good reasons:

2 of last 3 weeks he has scored less than 5 points in my PPR league

Raiders are #6 vs the pass

I have Boldin, Marshall, Cotchery, and Driver ahead of him <_<

 
I don't necessarily agree that it's a no brainer..

like anything.. you make a call based on your gut...

and of course aside from the "must play" guys..

we play whomever we feel may be the best matchups that week..

I have him in 4 leagues and played him in all 4..

the thought in My mind basically was that the Raiders best CB is gonna be eyeballing Chambers all nite..

My choice could just as easily have been a bonehead move..

The guy had just 4 targets the last two games. I could not afford to start the dude this time. I guess he was bound to go off but hey we still got guys going Sunday and we can hope for the best.

Agree. The guy has been invisible for a couple weeks now. No way to see a good game like this coming. (I have him on the bench but have S. SMith, Colston and T.O. so I've only started him once I think.)
 
Started him in 3 of the 4 leagues I own him in. Benched him for Pierre Thomas as a flex in the other one.

I am 75% on the happy meter.

 
Played him last week instead of Royal and he got zero, while Royal had a monster game, including a 59 yard TD catch. Benched him for Royal this week and Vjax has a monster game, including a 59 yard TD catch. I'm not liking this trend.

Exactly. Can't wait to chase his points next week for a big fat bagel. If I make it to next week.

Add me to the list! Benched him for Caddy. With the porous Oak Run Def, I figured Rivers would have 180 yard and all the scores would be LT & Sproles.Live and learn!
 
You guys who are pointing out VJax's zero last week probably are not aware of two near TDs where he just missed getting both feet down inbounds both times. They were his only two targets, but showed he's still a big part of the red zone package.

A guy with 700 yards and 5 TDs through 12 games is tough to bench, and if I made all my decisions based on the previous game's stats I'd be horrible at this sport.

Benched him for Driver :thumbup:

Also benched him for Beaston :shrug: :bag: .

Getting a 0 last week cost me and startled me into making what appears to be bad plays.

I did bench Rivers for either Orton, Hasselbeck or Frerotte (still have to choose one) :wall:

Thankfully my opponent started Gates

same here :wall: royal is going huge this week though!
 
I benched him for Hixon and here's the kicker..............I also benched Rivers for Thigpen!!

My opponent played Gates, however.

My game is a must win this week. If I win, I'm in.

I actually played him over Hixon. Was really considering Hixon but the weather is looking pretty gloomy for Sunday in East Rutherford.

Yea he's a top 25 receiver. I had to run him as a WR3.
 
Owner asked me to set up their roster due to father rushed to the hospital for heart problems.

Benched Rivers and VJax

for

Brees & Ward.

Might as well call them at the hospital just in case...

Benched him for Hixon or Holmes (haven't decided which one i'm starting yet). TBH i would probably bench him again; its tough to determine how many targets your gonna get in SD. His future does look bright though...

 
Started him in one league but that was an easy choice. Small rosters, we start 3 WR, and the only WR on my bench is Matt Jones. Not much of a decision there.

In another league my opponent benched V Jax. :bag:

 
Benched Vincent for Witten/Bowe :bag:

What's really gonna be the killer though is benching the Chargers DST... that was probably their best game of the the season.

Ouch. I played the guy that started Rivers....and I left Jackson and Zach Miller on my bench. Ugh. Of course, I can't really beat myself up over Jackson because I would've had to play him over Colston, Marshall, Ginn, or Houshmandzadeh. Out of my five receivers, Jackson was one of the no-brainer sits. Tonight's game makes me think I might be one-and-done. Damn.
 
The bad news? I started Reggie Wayne and Santonio Holmes over Vincent Jackson.

The good news? I started Dustin Keller over Antonio Gates.

Hindsight is 20/20. Give the guys you started a chance to contribute.

 
I started him in the 2 leagues I have him. I just did not have better options. My other WR shot himself.

 
Ya know, I benched him in my two 'must-win' leagues too, but I'm not really all that upset. I mean, dude went w/o a catch last week. What were we supposed to expect? C'est la vie.

But I must say, this definitely reinforces my desire to find a 'roto' style league in which you don't have starting lineups....

 
I benched Vj but I did start Phillip Rivers who in my scoring system scored 31 pts. last night we get 6pts for all td's under 40 yds and 9pts. for all td's over 40 :cool:

 
I benched for Hixon. However my playoff opponent started Chris Chambers who put a goose egg, so I feel better about it.

 
Benched him in round 1 of the playoffs for either Avery or Bess, PPR and after VJ didn't show much last week I balked. The good news in my opponent did start Gates.

 
Benched Rivers and VJax in one league. Playing Holmes and Favre. Played against Rivers in another league where I also played gates.

I can't believe I'm the first in this thread to post this little guy :unsure: :wall: :mellow: :wall: :wall: He is all I could see as I went to sleep last night.

 
Just for good measure, I need to add that for some unknown reason(the force maybe) I picked up Sproles in both leagues...ended up dropping him for Young in one league but I cannot begin to explain why I decided to grab him....of course he was on my bench too. :unsure:
