Anyone else noticed Delhomme's remaining schedule? (1 Viewer)

... then it gets tougher with Tampa, Giants, Denver to close out the FF playoffs.

if you take out the last game against tampa, he's had 5 TD's with 2 picks, and averaging well over 200 yds a game. with carson palmer rotting on my bench and aaron rodgers flirting with disaster every time he runs the ball, i'm considering a trade offer.... anyone else?

He's my McNabb backup in one league and I'm happily going with him this week. Though if I had Rodgers he'd probably just sit behind him as well.

Starting him in place of Warner this week. He's a solid backup; that Bucs game was the exception, and he should put up some nice numbers the rest of the way.

FWIW, this thread actually made me interested in him. I acquired him earlier in the week. With three INTs (none of which were really his fault) and no TDs against the Bucs, his value is as low as it gets for the remainder of the season...not to mention that the schedule, like you said, is very 'swiss cheese' like.

Clayton's SOS numbers don't back up the idea that the upcoming schedule is particularly easy, but I think he will be solid - a good backup option. Esp. in the games highlighted above.

His receivers, OTOH, have an extremely easy schedule. How we reconcile that, I am not sure - but it provides a reasonable basis to hope for good fantasy stats from Delhomme.

Let's also remember in looking at Delhomme's stats that Steve Smith dropped a couple of TD passes. I read on Y! that Smith has 9 TDs in his last 7 games v. NO . . .and I believe NO lost some secondary guys this past week.

I just watched the Panthers - Bucs game tonight, and that score, and game, was VERY misleading if you just look at the box score. Smith and Delhomme should put up some VERY nice games over the next 10 weeks.

One more point on Delhomme - the danger against some of the teams above (notably, Detroit and GB) is that their run Ds are even worse than their pass Ds, and Carolina might choose to run 40+ times rather than have Delhomme throw a lot. He might be on the way to a sweet day and then taper off.

Also, against the Cards and GB, teams need long drives and running plays to keep the opposing O off the field.

I'm saying Delhomme is a great option for your bench, but temper expectations of very many huge statistical days.

Yeah, I think his schedule sets up nicely but the fact that the Panthers pound the ball could take some value away (as Levin alluded to). I am interested to see where he ends up by year's end - I think he is a good sleeper candidate FWIW.

They don't? Maybe you should look again. There's probably a reason why NXT3 in the CAR row is highlighted in red.
