Anyone else think the real S. Alexander show up late in the season? (1 Viewer)

I don't own Alexander and am not trying to trade for him....but was fortunate to own him in years past when he was a TD beast.

Anyway, I know they don't have as good an offensive line and that M. Morris is going to steal a few carries.. but doesn anyone else think Alexander is going to finish the season strong?

I actually think he will get back to the 100-120 yds/game and 1-2 TDs form.

I haven't been following too closely after I traded him away (plus I don't get many Seahawks games), but is he still wearing that cast? If so, no, he won't return to form this year. I can't believe I'm saying this but he may be a sleeper for next year depending on how things turn out.

No. Your stats project him to being a 1,500 yd. 20 TD RB over an entire year and those days are done. But I could see him being a serviceable #2 fantasy back if he ever gets healthy.

Been bearish on him for awhile now, but this last stretch, he has something to prove, and I think he will to a degree. I actually think we'll see him run harder for a bit.

1. Take out a fork

2. Find S.A.

3. Stick said fork into S.A.

Wash, rinse, repeat until 2008 FF Draft Day

You may be right, but methinks his fat contract took the wind out of his sails last year and he's washed up. The only motivation he has right now is that Mo Mo is getting the love in his place which isn't much since they've greenlighted Hasselback to throw more.

No and no.

Good luck to SA and SA owners, but I don't see it happening.

he may a game or two here and there that will tease fantasy owners, but I think he's done. He's just not the same guy anymore. just my $0.02

His return is not changing the fact that the Seahawks will continue to feature the pass. They are no longer relying on him, and neither should anybody else.

He is starting to really get slammed in the national media. Keshawn last night really dogged him on ESPN radio with Mort and Tuna. Saying he got paid and now has no motivation. Said that he takes days off now with a hang nail. Maybe this negative press motivates him? Dunno. Dumped him in the offseason for Peyton...

It would be an interesting stats to track, the number of times in their contract year RBs, WRs will have one of their top 3 productive years and then after they get the dough (staying with the same team) they flop for whatever reason. Maybe Chase has that info saved up somewhere.

I live in Seattle and I say no. Alexander has slipped, plus the great left side of the OL hasn't been the same since Hutchinson left.

not a chance..he's cooked.at best, he will split 50/50 w/ MoMo

I found this snippet from the blogger:Alexander, 30, had not been inactive for a game due to injury from his rookie season of 2001 until he broke his foot early last season. He has missed nine games in the last 14 months and will be wearing a cast over his broken left wrist for the remainder of the season.

According to SA, the cast has hampered his running style. So I agree, you probably won't get much from Alexander the rest of the year.

And this is exactly what happened to Ricky Watters that let SA get his foot in the door. Watters was never hurt, never missed a game and then boom he dgoes down. Comes back for 1 or 2 games (?) and then breaks his leg and never sees the field again as SA stepped in. Now we have a guy who never got hurt and is down for the second season in a row. And now he doesn't have the best left side in recent memory blocking for him anymore so his style (the real SA) doesn't work, he's dinged up and got his huge payday. Some players are like that. Watters wasn't. Even in his last season he didn't step out of bounds or go down easy. He'd knock a DB on his ### at the sideline rather than step out, SA is a different player whose longevity was based on the fact that he didn't take the big hits, or give them out. Even without the cast, I would be worried about him being in disrupting the new pass heavy O , he is a poor blocker and has had trouble catching the ball prior to the wrist injury, wheras with MoMo and/or Weaver back there you have RB that can block and catch. With the cast on, SA's blocking and catching skills are up there with the likes of Martin Grammatica. So, will the real SA show up? Good God I hope not. It will do nothing but hinder the O if the real SA shows up. I'd like to see the Contract Year SA show up. The one that actually fell forward when hit, the one that actually converted over 90% of short down situations. The one who used to take screen passes 80 yards on prime time games. But really, with the exception of the Bears playoff game, I haven't seen the good SA for a very long time, and that coincides with the $62 million reasons to not dig that depp anymore.

Age and carries caught up with Alexander. He isn't ever going to be what he was on a consistent basis.

The "real" Alexander at the present time is a broken down old RB and that is what showed up this year, so i don't think you want the "real" Alexander, you want the 27ish yr old one. Unless you get a time machine your out of luck.

He's coming through big time today in the clutch for his owners.6 carries for -3 yards in the 3rd Q.
Still waiting for Cacksman to come in here and tel us all how good SA really is. Yet another game where his "backup" outrushes him (or nearly so) on the less carries. He got smacked good on his first carry and shied from contact from then on. Even his one run through a gaping crease ended with him getting the ball stripped from him. Another absolutely pathetic showing from the Alexnader the Rank.

Not only did I start him, but I'm going to win and get to the finals.

Nothing...I mean nothing...on the WW. My other options for my #2 are Brandon Jackson, Maurice Morris, and Ladell Betts.

I have no idea how I keep winning games. Thank God for Brandon Marshall, Greg Jennings, Ryan Grant and Peyton Manning
