Anyone else worried about Tampa Mike @ CIN? (1 Viewer)

Bengals don't seem to be giving up a lot of fantasy production to opposing WR1s.

If Leon Hall covers him, you can fuhgetaboutit. I'm likely benching him in a ppr league where I'll be starting Clayton and Harvin instead as WR's 3 and 4.

I am concerned. His ability to score keeps me interested this week, but like other weeks - he may only get 3-4 catches for under 50 yards. He's a great prospect for keeper leagues, but 1000 yards is not in the cards for him in 2010. In 2011 with more growth from Freeman and Benn? Then it's likely for Williams to be a WR2 in fantasy week to week.

I need to dig deep due to byes, but won't touch him this week. Going with TO.

Look at the games Moss, Boldin, & Steve Smith had vs Cincy. Enough said.

Have Tampa Mike in while Holmes and Garcon are currently sitting.

I'm starting Santana Moss over Tampa Mike this week. I'm just hoping Moss doesn't have a repeat of last week.

I thought Jonathan Joseph would cover him but he's no slouch either.
Joseph is very banged up and will probably be limited if he is even active this week. He thought be broke his arm, but ended up being a deep bruise. If he can't play through the pain, Williams could get matched up with Pacman or someone else. The Bengals CB's don't always chase WR1's around the field. Then again, they usually don't care because 1 of Hall or Joseph can match up with them on either side. I actually think Williams is a decent play against them anyway. They are pretty dominant against intermediate routes, but in the small sample size I've seen (of MW) Williams could get his from screens and a deep ball or 2. Not sure if anyone has the data to refute or back that up, but I'm just going from observations watching the games.

If Joseph is out, do you think the Bengals would shadow Young Buc (my nickname for Tampa Mike) with Leon Hall?

My gut feeling is no, but maybe someone has time to check out the tape on recent situations where Joseph has been out. I have a feeling it won't be as black and white as that with Joseph this week though. There is a decent chance that he is active and plays in very limited situations. His run support may suffer and his tackling of MW concerns me a little as a Bengals fan.

Tampa really doesn't have much as far as red zone threats, tough benching him this week in non ppr's because when they're deep in Cincy territory they'll be looking hsi way. PPR, he's a safer bench, he isn't reliable enough yet to count on 5-8 catches week in and week out and against Cincy expecting the high end would be a poor bet.

I'm starting him in both of my non ppr 3 WR leagues, but he's on the pine in the rest.

I think Tampa could try and mimic the success of Hillis and pound it with Blount. This should open it up to take a few shots Mike's way.

I'm starting him in a pair of leagues, 14- and 16-teamers, as my 3rd WR in both. Expecting 4-6 catches, hoping for a score. The guy's getting the most targets on the team by a fair margin, and I'm hoping he and Freeman come out of the bye week hot.

I agree somwehat. This guy is his teams red zone. The looks he'll get there will justify starting hiw as a WR3 w/big upside (moreso interms of having a 2 td game than 150 etc). The bengals have been letting up points this year.Williams is also gonna be fed the ball. Look how guys like welker and brandon tate we able to get some looks.
