Anyone ever leave an empty slot in starting lineup? (1 Viewer)

Such as a kicker or TE?
It is definitely not Plan A. I did it once last year actually. Dynasty league with medium sized benches and the perfect storm of a bye week and injury problem (I believe I had 9 of 20 total players injured or on a bye). I lost by more points than any one guy would have gotten me.eta: it was my TE.

I did this week. I didn't want to drop anybody to pickup a kicker, and I had a bunch of players on bye and figured I'd lose anyway. Then the Vikings D went nuts. I lost by .4.

I want to but in all my leagues we've agreed that would be an illegal lineup and you would forfeit the match.

Our league requires you to have a full lineup.

With that being said i decided to play J.Cook with T.Gonzo out knowing full well i wouldnt get any points there.

And this with K.Boss and Scaife on the ww. Decided i didnt want to cut any youth that i know will be scooped up and i wouldnt get back.

Yep, plan on doing it this week. I'll put in a kicker or a tight end from waivers - I draft knowing that I might end up short at those positions during the bye weeks every year. If I can pull off a trade before the bye weeks that will free up a roster spot or drop a player doesn't pan out then I am will pick up what I need. I just made a two for one trade that allowed me to free up one roster spot. But I am not willing to just "drop" some of the players that I have - I would rather give up the potential points and have depth and options at the RB/WR positions.

Yes, last season, due to the oddity of our league rules. Our redraft league limits us to thin benches and limited # of transactions during the season, with a salary cap to boot. Only one backup per position, and only 7 transactions all year. I was holding on to Colston during his thumb injury and didn't want to burn a transaction (which I later used adding Pierre Thomas for Addai) or drop any of my WRs. I was 7-1 and playoff bound regardless. I ended up winning that week. So given our league rules it happens on occasion.

Every time the Braylon Edwards or Eddie Royal owner in our league starts them, it's like an empty spot.
:heart:In a couple weeks when DAL is on bye.. I'm leaving Witten in at TE because I'm using most of my bench on filling other spots and have no one to drop for a WW TE (unless Choice is worthless by then and I can drop him).

I did this week. We have a very short bench. We start 1 QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1 K and 1 D and we have 4 bench spot.

Have T.Gonzo as a TE and I did not want to lose him since i am 13th in waiver wire priority.

Still won because the SF defense and Steve Smith.

Some interesting players might be dropped in the upcoming weeks beacuse of bye weeks and our short bench.

It's permitted in my main league provided the "strategy' is disclosed to the commish before kick-off in order to avoid a line-up warning. It happened last year with a kicker and the guy lost by 3 pts...
