anyone going to try and trade off Kevin Smith (1 Viewer)

not sure if hes going to have a repeat week against this SF defense... i dont want to bench him but it is gonig to be tough
Now that's why if you have any designs on trading Smith, you should probably do it before this Sunday.1 of 3 things will likely take place:1) K. Smih will get hurt.2) K. Smith will have a crappy day against one of the best run defenses in the league.3) K. Smith will explode (figuratively - for literally, see #1) and have a great day, then his trade value sky rockets.Of course there's option #4 which is basically 2 or 3, then 1 by then end of the game. That all said, I think the chances of 1 or 2 happening are about 85-95.7%. If you want to hold Smith on the 10% chance that he will actually be worth more after this Sunday, have at it. Or, if you like his talent and think he can stay healthy AND hold off Leshore, that's an option as well. But the above is also likely why you wont get much value back. Many wouldn't start him this week anyway (Assuming they have options) and after this week, the return of Leshore muddies the water in terms of carries.

I mean, if someone wants to pay huge, sure. But I'm not dying to get rid of a guy that just put up the 2nd highest points among RBs so far for the week in my PPR. In that offense, with the amount of red zone time, he's a 2TD threat every game. Of course he's probably going to get injured (but so will most of the starting RBs in the league.)

So...kinda?
That's exactly the type of guy you try to trade away.
This sort of thinking always gets me. You've got a player who is most likely your #2 or #3 and he breaks out in #1 form. Why is the reaction here always to trade him? I'm sitting in one league with him backing up Ray Rice, happy enough with my WR's, QB, and others, high score for the week--WHY TRADE??
I did this with Jahvid Best two years in a row. Everyone said to sell him, and I refused, thinking I had struck gold. I got burned twice. If you trust the player, then by all means hang on...but to me, this situation screams "sell high".In this case however, his trade value may not be high enough to make it worth your while to sell him. I think a large majority of fantasy players don't trust him.
It's funny, but in a situation like this I always think of Darren McFadden in 2010 when Bush was out for a couple weeks with a broken hand. I dealt with people that were even more suspicious of DMAC's injury history than I was, and concerned that Bush would be taking carries away when he returned - and unlike LeShoure, there were people who thought Bush was a legit/NFL elite starting RB. (Whereas I think LeShoure is, at best, average so far.) I finally sold DMAC "high" for Finley, who back then had HUGE hype, and then Finley got injured. My lesson was, don't sell a productive player with bad hype just because you are afraid of the bad hype. Ride the player until it dies, unless you get an offer closer to the player's ceiling than his floor.
