I think you are looking at 10 team leagues. Huge differenceI have to stop taking part in big $ leagues, a lot of these line-ups are making me a bit jealous haha.

Perhaps if Cooks, Benjamin, or Matthews are productive you can trade one of your top 3 receivers for a good RB a couple of weeks into the season.Drafted out of the 6 spot last night. 12 team, 1/2 PPR. Was targeting Lacy in the first and he went right before Calvin. Was targeting Ball or Martin in the second, but they went so I took Julio. Then Stacy went right before Cobb and Ellington went before Gerhart. Every RB I preferred in the first four rounds went a pick before mine. Decided to go WR WR WR for the first time in my ten year (and 50+ draft) career. I can't get excited over my starting RB's as hard as I try.
6 Calvin Johnson, Det WR
19 Julio Jones, Atl WR
30 Randall Cobb, GB WR
43 Toby Gerhart, Jac RB
54 Joique Bell, Det RB
67 Steven Jackson, Atl RB
78 Jay Cutler, Chi QB
91 Dennis Pitta, Bal TE
102 Brandin Cooks, NO WR
115 Tony Romo, Dal QB
126 Mark Ingram, NO RB
139 Kelvin Benjamin, Car WR
150 Jordan Matthews, Phi WR
163 Charles Clay, Mia TE
174 Steelers D/ST D/ST
187 Shayne Graham, NO K
I pick 1.04 but I am in a QB flex league so I am targeting a QB in round 1 (if the big three QBs are gone by 1.04 that means I have my pick of RBs and will definitely go that route) but, if history holds for my league, I will have a shot at the #2 or 3 WR on the board in round 2 and am seriously considering going WR/WR in rounds 2-3. Either way, unless a ridiculous RB value falls to me in round 2, which I doubt, I will be going WR or QB in round 2.I have pick 1.04 in my 1k league tonight (full PPR). Planning on going Megatron -> Jordy. Let's go!
I'm guessing Qbs are going early as well as TEs. I was surprised at the number of TEs that went in mine before the 6th round. Some guys were even taking a 2nd TE by the 10th. We only have 14 roster spots. What leagues are you guys in where you can get DEZ at like pick 16? I just don't get it...
Also Julio Jones at 19 in PPR etc... I just don't know who all these other team are picking.
I'm guessing some combination of .5PPR (much larger effect than perceived, to the point where upside down is much less viable), 10 team, superflex and just generally rather casual leagues. What leagues are you guys in where you can get DEZ at like pick 16? I just don't get it...

It's not the way it used to be when we'd show up at the American Legion with our cheat sheets and magazines and be on our way. Online drafting on a site like ESPN gives the novice members of a league as fair a shot as anyone, and their values were pretty close to ADP this year. In the case of getting Julio at 19, I think 1/2 PPR watered down things a bit, but the online drafting phenomenon also took over. Most of my leaguemates have been playing for a while, but even they second guess themselves when they look at the player pool and see Aaron Rodgers at 9 and Doug Martin at 14. Incidentally, Julio's ADP in non-PPR is 18, so it is realistic he would be there at 19. We did have a few slight reaches before Julio (Martin, Foster, Brees, and Rodgers) but the first few rounds went as I expected. What leagues are you guys in where you can get DEZ at like pick 16? My draft is similarly skewed (but not nearly as heavily) as TEs get 1.5PPR which does alter the first couple rounds slightly. The fact that Jimmy Graham's possible 90 receptions all of a sudden turns into 135 shoots him up to the first overall pick in my projections. I'm not quite positive if my strategy would be considered "upside down".Chaka said:I pick 1.04 but I am in a QB flex league so I am targeting a QB in round 1 (if the big three QBs are gone by 1.04 that means I have my pick of RBs and will definitely go that route) but, if history holds for my league, I will have a shot at the #2 or 3 WR on the board in round 2 and am seriously considering going WR/WR in rounds 2-3. As is always the case, the draft didn't break anywhere near to how I anticipated. My draft is similarly skewed (but not nearly as heavily) as TEs get 1.5PPR which does alter the first couple rounds slightly. gotta think patterson i bad here. gotta be a better rb there which would be important to shoring up that position. also, given positional needs, foles hamstrings that.Picked 1.10 in a 12 team PPR QB/2RB/2WR/flex
1.10- D. Thomas
2.03- Dez (couldn't pass the chance to run these two out every week, but would have taken Ball)
3.10- Gronk
4.03- Gerhart
5.10- Mathews
6.03- Patterson
7.10- Foles
8.03- Fjax
9.10- SJax (hoping one of the Jackson old timers can somehow eke out 1000 total yards and 6 TDs)
10.03- Mike Evans
Bench depth no one cares about
Seems like a lot of people in this thread have Mathews as one of their backs.
If Jimmy Graham doesn't fall to me, WR, WR is a solid option for the first two rounds.Looking at these teams. It makes me not want to go WR, WR... Just too many holes, imo.
Just like I posted in the "What happens when you take Graham 1st round" thread- these "holes" that you see on paper post draft are meaningless because 2 weeks into the year your starting different players anyway.Looking at these teams. It makes me not want to go WR, WR... Just too many holes, imo.
Patterson in the 6th round of 12 team PPR is madness. I don't care if I wasn't carrying a single RB, I wouldn't pass up someone with blatant WR1 upside in that spot.gotta think patterson i bad here. gotta be a better rb there which would be important to shoring up that position. also, given positional needs, foles hamstrings that.Picked 1.10 in a 12 team PPR QB/2RB/2WR/flex

I correctly guessed I could get Ingram and another bench WR after, and the one I wanted late was James Jones. And now we see why.Picked 1.10 in a 12 team PPR QB/2RB/2WR/flex
