Three weeks in and I'm very happy I made the switch from iPhone. Size took me about a week to get used to the size, but now I wouldn't go back. It fits in all my pockets just fine - a little bit different feel in your pocket, too, but that's also something I don't notice anymore.so how are people liking it, does it fit in your pocket ok?
i am do for an upgrade and figure this or the galaxy s4

I have an ipad mini that I think I may give to my wife because I have not looked at it since I got this phone.John Bender said:Go for it bell
I also made the jump from iPhone to Note 3. Love this thing. It almost (almost) negates the need for a tablet for me to be honest. Because the screen is so big I don't see as much of a need as toting around both a tablet and a phablet. Great screen, great phone all around.
Yup, especially if you have a mini. No need for an iPad mini when you own this Bad LarryI have an ipad mini that I think I may give to my wife because I have not looked at it since I got this phone.John Bender said:Go for it bell

The size was very easy to adjust to. I was surprised at how easy the transition was.yeah i decided. wife is going to get a free S4 instead of waiting and i am going to get the note .always been android so that wont shock me but the size might....John Bender said:Go for it bell

They have not released enough information yet on the S5 to be able to make a determination.I'm due for an upgrade from my S3. I'm torn between getting the note 3 or waiting to see what the S5 is all about. Anybody have any insight? Obviously the size is different, but what are we supposed to see in the S5 that the note3 won't have?
I meant to thank you earlier for this recommendation. Works well and is very handy for when the wife is trying to sleep.Screen adjuster app is great for this because it lets your screen go darker than the factory settings. If it is dark and you have a Note on its lowest brightness setting it is still too bright. In other news, I figured out another reason I like the bigger screen on this thing. I fall asleep occasionally while reading something on my phone in bed. With my iPhone, I had to have it close enough to my face that it would fall right on my chin when I zonked out. When it happened last night, the Note fell on my chest instead. Much more pleasant way to realize it's time to put the phone away and go to sleep.![]()
Almost better than Christmas!ITS UPGRADE DAY!
I think I am going to get the S5 for my wife, so I have been keeping an eye on it. She doesn't want a phone as big as my Note, so that seems like the best option.I'm due for an upgrade from my S3. Possibly these things are so supercharged now i hope it will be ok ....My wife would probably be fine with an S4, but I would hate to buy an old version when the S5 is so close. A year old technology isn't that old, but by the end of a 2 year contract the device is on 3-4 year old hardware and will likely suck.
How did you manage to keep your VW unlimited? They told me if I upgrade my phone I have to go to one of the new prorated data plans. I wanted to go up to the S4, but balked at either coughing up my unlimited plan or $300 for the phone. Finally made the switch about a week ago (I had been on iPhone 4). The Verizon people at our local BJ's had $50 off the $299 Note, but the day I went in they said the promotion changed to a $100 mail in rebate. The woman said she could still give me $25 off since she had a standard code that didn't require her to ask permission, so that worked for me. I added a new line on my plan for my daughter to use my old iphone, and I managed to be able to keep my old unlimited data plan switched over to the new phone, which was unexpected.
Overall loving the thing. The size definitely takes time to get used to, but I'll echo some previous owners by saying that when I pick up my old iphone, it just feels tiny.
The biggest annoyance at first was what has been mentioned about no visual voice mail. I must not have seen the last half of this page in this thread and wasn't ready for that. Paying verizon monthly for their visual voice mail was out of the question after being used to the iphone's standard. But I got Google Voice set up in a way that pretty much gives the same functionality plus more with the transcription of messages. I had an old Google Voice #, and I just had to set the phone up to forward unanswered calls to that #. Turn on the "Voicemail display" option in the Voice app settings and it integrates it right into the standard phone app (showing the tape icon in the "Recent" list letting you listen to the message) pretty much just like the way it's done on the iphone. No need to give anyone your Google # or use it for anything else if you don't want.

had this non stop with my iphone. Drove me nutsWell, I love Android and still love my Note 3, but I'm having my first problem. The headphone indicator is on -- it thinks I have headphones plugged in-- even when I take them out. I tried cleaning it out with alcohol based on some thing online, didn't work. Annoying because if I try to answer a phone call, I can't hear anyone and they can't hear me (it's sending the audio to the headphone jack). So I luckily found an Android app that lets you control where the audio goes, and I set it so that whenever I get a phone call, it goes to the earpiece no matter what, even if I have headphones plugged in. It's a fine workaround for my purposes, and I don't use it as a phone all that much anyway, but still annoying. I'll have to figure out how to get that fixed at some point.

Added a new line for the Note onto my old iPhone's plan (nationwide 450 or something?). I was able to add another line on the same plan rather than having to get the share everything plan. The only difference was that I had to pick a data amount with corresponding fee on the new line. Then I was able to switch the two phones so that I could keep my old number and the unlimited data, and my daughter got the new number and limited data on my old iPhone.
Basically, I didn't actually upgrade, but added a new phone (I still have an available upgrade, too, which is nice). But the girl wasn't too confident that it would work until she gave it a shot. It ends up costing a few $ more than if I just put them both on a share everything plan, but I figure there's a decent chance that it'll be worth it. I definitely am averaging more data than before so far, since watching video is so much more enjoyable on this thing.
not really. Would be great if all apps could do it, but it was limited. Forget I have it must of the time. However, if I actually get videos then it would be great. You guys use the double window often?
yeah just realized not all apps work, figures the one I wanted doesn't worknot really. Would be great if all apps could do it, but it was limited. Forget I have it must of the time. However, if I actually get videos then it would be great. You guys use the double window often?
loving this thing. I too would be interested in the wireless charge. I put on a tempered glass screen protector.... first time ever using one. I also got the sign hybrid case... first time ever using a case. Steam works through it for what is worthGot mine coming in the mail today. Otis, or anyone else that might know about the wireless charging thing, what did you use? The Samsung brand battery cover? Are you able to use a case with that? If so, what kind of case?
I'm starting to use it more often lately. You guys use the double window often?
Better than the double window is the draw pen window option because you can size it the way you'd like and actually have as many windows open as you want (and minimize them - the icon stays on the screen until you need it again)I'm starting to use it more often lately. You guys use the double window often?
The biggest use for me is having Messages open when in the middle of texting someone back and forth while also doing something else like Web browsing.
I will also use the calculator when looking over numbers on a different app like chrome or something else, although I'll use the pen window for that when it's just something quick.
Yeah, I like that, too. But unless you're rooted, the available apps for those windows are even more limited than for the double window, right?Better than the double window is the draw pen window option because you can size it the way you'd like and actually have as many windows open as you want (and minimize them - the icon stays on the screen until you need it again)I'm starting to use it more often lately. The biggest use for me is having Messages open when in the middle of texting someone back and forth while also doing something else like Web browsing. You guys use the double window often?
