Hi Aaron!!Can I stay there if you do?
Hi GB!!HI!
No, but I recently considered buying in Puerto Rico. Just as nice, better bang for the buck.

Hi Aaron. You and I (and ~10 other FBGs) are the biggest NHL fans on the board. GO HAWKS!!!Just Brong

Free? Wow. Park City sounds great, but I doubt I'd find myself there.Hi Aaron!! You helped me evaluate an investment, so if I ever buy in Hawaii, you definitely have a free stay. If I don't buy in Hawaii, maybe you want to stay at my place in Park City? Can I stay there if you do?

Better in the summer than the winter IMO.
Property in Pahoa (outside Hilo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljmmi4mSGiI It's around 2/3 acre, but the majority of the property is stocked fish ponds. The property is on the ocean, so the pond levels rise and fall with the tides.Actually, we're thinking about selling the property in Hawaii. If you are interested in something off the beaten path, shoot me a PM.
What do you do with all the fish?Property in Pahoa (outside Hilo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljmmi4mSGiI It's around 2/3 acre, but the majority of the property is stocked fish ponds. Not a typical vacation place for a mainlander, but an amazing property for the right owner.
Swim/snorkel with them. Look at them. I guess you could also hook them and eat them if you want, though we never do. Other than a bunch of tropicals, the ponds are stocked with mullet and a few big tuna. But, yeah, the fish get fed most days, so the property comes with a chore (or you'll need to pay someone to feed them). What do you do with all the fish?
Nice place. Think I'd want to live there instead of just vacationing though!Property in Pahoa (outside Hilo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljmmi4mSGiIIt's around 2/3 acre, but the majority of the property is stocked fish ponds. What do you know of Vieques? I've apparently got family from there--my brother's doing the history.HI!

I'd kill for a place like that to retire to. Looks amazing.Nice place. Very cool and with the guitar music I was halfway to turning in my retirement papers. Then I remembered I'd be broke next week if I did that so I didn't. Still very nice property though.Property in Pahoa (outside Hilo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljmmi4mSGiIIt's around 2/3 acre, but the majority of the property is stocked fish ponds. Ask whether the fee is available for sale? If so, how much is it?I'm looking to move to Maui in the next few years.
For the Real Estate FBG's, what questions should I ask regarding a "leasehold" on a condo?
Cool, thanks for the tips!Ask whether the fee is available for sale? If so, how much is it?How much is the current lease rent?I'm looking to move to Maui in the next few years.

When does the leasehold expire and come up for renewal?
In general, I would stay away from leasehold properties unless the fee is available for purchase and you intend on purchasing it. Hawaii has a lot of leasehold properties, which generally decrease in value as the lease renewal inches closer and closer. They are typically much less liquid than fee simple homes and can be a pain to sell.
Am I the only one who was hoping that video would end with shots of people running from lava flows?Property in Pahoa (outside Hilo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljmmi4mSGiIIt's around 2/3 acre, but the majority of the property is stocked fish ponds.
