Cant get busted. Besides, it was Krispy Cremes. In fact... if he is using HGH... it would be to any fantasy owners benefit. That's it, I'm trading away Portis before he gets busted for HGH. Thanks BST!

Cool your jets - it was meant as a joke - I figured it was in line with what I interpreted as humor on your part.Yep, but since this is Footballguys.com I figured we would focus on the NFL. They do have a baseball forum though.Just like in Major League Baseball!Stop it. You know there isn't anyone in the NFL using HGH. After all, if it was a problem then the union would demand that the owners test for it.Being around "athletic enhancement" users for 25 years and keeping myself overly informed on many things health/training related. For starters.Bigsteelthrill - what's your background or experience that allows you to make this observation?I'm not asking to be a wise ###, I'm really curious as to where you get the opinion from.![]()
Nice, i don't get to use this one too often...Again, no offense to you either, but I really find it funny that people can draw that "at first glance" on a low res clip from nfl.com. Not as funny when a mod claims it. Guess I really need to think over if I want to pay for content here next year. This is good stuff though, the witch hunt is on!It's really not fair to any athlete to claim that they're using PEDs with no knowledge whatsoever. But as a simple empirical matter of more likely than not, I'm with BST. That was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw Portis. I don't think BST is saying, or would be right to say, that Portis is a cheater, a bad person, or even a drug user. He shouldn't accuse Portis of anything. But I think he's right in saying at first glance, Portis sure seems to share some similar traits to guys that use HGH.I didn't say distended either. If you just do a search for "HGH side effects" you'll easily find that "extended belly" is listed. In the cases that I've read about, I've also read it's extremely rare. It's actually pretty comical that someone can come here and post "the far likely scenario is that HGH is being used" based on a low res nfl.com clipIm not saying he has a "distended" stomach. Thats different. We are looking at a muscular man who has stomach muscle bellies that are larger then his chest. He has lost all taper to his waste, yet has almost no fat. And he likely was never fat in his life up to this point. He does NOT have a distended stomach, he is still tight. Its possible he has done an amazing amount of WEIGHTED abs work outs to get his abs to grow in such a fashion that includes his abdominal wall. But the far likely scenario is that HGH is being used (it administered subcutaneously at the abs) and its having its typical effect to the surrounding stomach/ab muscle structure.Sounds scientific enough to meI knew I'd be attacked for posting it.And yet I still stand by what I said.Nice HGH belly on Portis.![]()
Way to accuse somebody of something with no evidence whatsoever. Nice precedent to set.

Ive been around it and seen it. So my educated guess is that he has a classic HGH belly that I've seen many times before.
If you gave him truth serum and made CP and me stand up in court... and I had to put my house on the line and make a guess... I'd certainly venture that he has used HGH.
To bet to the contrary would seem a fools errand. And still, at this moment, I have no proof.I've read about an extended belly being a side effect of HGH use, but I've also read that its extremely rare and likely only if it is not used properly. I guess you failed to account for that with your "educated" guess. Regardless, I frankly didn't think his belly looked all that extended.
. Gotta love the internet!

yeah, sorry about sounding like that. almost edited my post but i got doing something else and forgot.point is there must be a ton of guys in all of the major sports on HGH. hopefully they will get the testing worked out soon. then everyone can move on to the next designer drug that can't be tested for.Cool your jets - it was meant as a joke - I figured it was in line with what I interpreted as humor on your part.Yep, but since this is Footballguys.com I figured we would focus on the NFL. Nice HGH belly on Portis.![]()
After the race, when Portis and Landry are walking past the camera, you can stop the video and get a look at his belly from multiple angles and it looks nothing out of the ordinary. Landry's waist looks like he wears a corset, though. Hopefully a corset expert will stop by this thread.switz said:That's an HGH belly? Have you ever seen a guy who uses HGH when he works out?

Considering the guy was considered too light for the NFL when he came out, doesn't it seem likely he might experience some injuries???Not saying he is or isn't tied to HGH, but if he were, would it really surprise you guys? ...Especially considering the frequent injuries he's endured in the past?
Ya know, my grandfather, who was a weight builder has stomach muscles larger than his chest, and he trained before HGH was even around. I've been around weight lifters my entire life, and I've never seen anyone who looked like that because of HGH.BST - you are full of baloney.Im not saying he has a "distended" stomach. Sounds like last offseason when Portis just didn't want to train in the offseason. So much for the famous foot race. hahahaClinton Portis missed the Redskins' OTA workout Wednesday with a "minor hip flexor strain."Portis appeared headed for a healthy offseason after last summer's disaster, but apparently that won't happen. The Redskins believe Portis may have been hurt when he raced LaRon Landry Sunday. Portis' status is unknown.Source: Washington Post

I'm sure most athletes have tried some performance enhancements at some point, some illegal, most not. There is a difference between a baseless accusation, and one with some evidence. Bottom line is what BST was accusing Portis of doing, doesn't fit in with the evidence he is suggesting at all, and that's what people pointed out. I don't think anyone got their panties in a bunch. It's just pretty ridiculous to make an accusation off that.Just to add my $.02 to this ridiculous thread.... anyone who thinks that there are a large percentage of professional athletes who haven't at some point tried some sort of performance enhancing drug is simply not paying much attention.Furthermore, any fan who gets their panties in a bundle because someone on a football message board suggests that a player exhibits a trait which may have been caused by a performance enhancing drug should probably get thicker skin.
bulpuckyyet, its still just my opinion. i'm off to the gym, talk at ya later.Bottom line is what BST was accusing Portis of doing, doesn't fitJust to add my $.02 to this ridiculous thread.... anyone who thinks that there are a large percentage of professional athletes who haven't at some point tried some sort of performance enhancing drug is simply not paying much attention.Furthermore, any fan who gets their panties in a bundle because someone on a football message board suggests that a player exhibits a trait which may have been caused by a performance enhancing drug should probably get thicker skin.
He wasn't accusing Portis of anything, he was simply giving his opinion. Yeah lets not be careful "giving opinions". Say whatever you want, it's only something that could tarnish the guys entire career. Big woop. Here's an example of a hypothetical "opinion". Looking at all the posts by Chase Stewart, he fits the classic profile of a child molester. Not an accusation, just an opinion. Now when people google "Chase Stewart" they'll get a nice little tag line about someone thinking he’s a child molester posted on a forum. (Google probably indexes FBG 40-50 times a day). That's a wonderful thing to have show up when people google your name. I'm sure Portis loves his name pulling up "looks like an HGH user to me".He wasn't accusing Portis of anything, he was simply giving his opinion.
