Anyone starting Jermaine Gresham this week? (1 Viewer)

I have Owen Daniels and Jermaine Gresham, and the news about Daniels being on a limited snap count concerns me enough to avoid him. But I also haven't heard very much about Gresham. Is he going to be a key target for Palmer like he was in his last preseason game? Will he be a decent start against New England this week?

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.

I am going to start him, but its a ppr leauge. My team is in rebuild mode but the way he looked in the preseason helped my desicion.

First the pats will probably try to stop the run more then the pass. And the way Bradford lit up there starting D with two td's to hoooman also makes me feel better about Gresh. Not going to be putting up elite numbers but i can see maybe 5 catches 60 some yards and maybe a score.

Palmer raves about Gresham. With as poor as the Bengals pass blocking has been, I wouldnt be shocked to see Gresham pull in all sorts of "relief valve" receptions. In the red zone defenses I love what his matchups will likely be. I would have no reservations on starting him over a questionable Daniels. I think floor of 40-50 yards on 5-7 receptions. Ceiling add a touchdown and maybe 20 more yards.

Playing wait and see this week.

Have him and Dustin Keller in one deep league where I laid off TE till the end of the draft. If Gresham looks like he's seeing targets, and puts up better than 3/40/0 or so, I'll probably start rolling him out week 2. I believe in the kid's upside, but there's plenty to be cautious about, IMO.

What do we think, start Gresham over Heath Miller this week?
Anyone offering actual "thoughts" on this is pulling stuff from their rectum. There are so many question marks with both those guys week one of this season that guessing at actual projections is a fool's errand. I'd start Heath on the vet-over-rookie tiebreaker, but that's about it.

Gresham is being drafted as TE # 18. He has upside and all, but if you are starting him, you waited too long to draft a TE.

Actually, I drafted Daniels ahead of Gresham. Besides, the dude's ADP isn't the sole arbitrer of his value for Week 1.The only thing really holding me back is that he's a rookie, but the prospect of Daniels playing about a quarter of a game is something I dislike more. What the hell, I'll give him a shot.

Have him in 2 leagues, benching him in both. Starting D Clark in one is a no-brainer; Shiancoe in the other is the safe play for me.

I expect Gresham to get better throughout the year but not to have to rely on him in either league. In any event, I'd be hard-pressed to start a rookie TE in Week 1 unless I had no other reasonable option.

If your other option is Daniels, definitely start Gresham. I think the Pats will have trouble covering the TE this year, and Daniels won't play that much.
