Anyone trying to get Henry amid all the turoil? (1 Viewer)

We all know the downside, he's banged up and has some legal problems. But, his injury doesnt seem serious, while he may miss the MNF game against GB, if legal issues were out of the picture, he'd be healthy for Week 9 most likely. The Broncos seem to be getting things figured out on offense. Walker will be coming back healthy in a few weeks. Henry could be a mid-low end #1 RB down the stretch, and he can be had for much less than that right now. He seems very intent on appealing this drug issue, which could imply that he's innocent, or that he may be able to use the appeals process to push this issue into the offseason. Of course, he could be out for good with a suspension as soon as next week.

I would have to think that Henry owners are thinking that they would like to get SOMETHING for him if possible in a trade. I was offered Henry and Deshaun Foster for Harrison, and am considering it (this is not a "should I pull the trigger?" thread).

THREE QUESTIONS:

1) Are any non-Henry owners thinking this is a good buy low opportunity? And if so, what are you willing to give up for him?

2) Henry owners, what are you hoping you can get for him (or is interest in trading for him so low that you're thinking that it's best to just hold him and hope he finishes out the season?)

3) If he was traded in your league since the marijuana suspension news broke two weeks ago, what has he gone for?

There's a ringing endorsement if I ever saw one.OK - IMO Henry isn't worth much, and I have him. He isn't doing much lately, he can't catch, he's dinged up, he's on the verge of suspension God-knows-when but could be any week, DEN isn't exactly dazzling anyone.......need I go on...

I for one am glad that there is now a thread to discuss Travis Henry. I also think this thread could be used to discuss other issues that demand attention, such as Brandon Jacobs, Joseph Addai, ADP, and the classlessness of New England fans.

Henry misses third-straight practice

By Mike Klis

The Denver Post

Article Last Updated: 10/27/2007 02:34:43 AM MDT

For a third consecutive day, Broncos running back Travis Henry did not practice because of injured ribs. Henry was listed as questionable for the Broncos' game Monday night against the Green Bay Packers so there remains a chance the Broncos could test his health today.

Henry, who ranks fifth in the NFL with 91.5 rushing yards per game, suffered the injury while landing awkwardly near the goal line last week against Pittsburgh. Although a strong runner who can get tough yards between the tackles, Henry has struggled with durability throughout his career. He has played 16 games in just one of his six previous seasons and he missed 15 games the

If Henry can't play against the Packers, the Broncos are expected to start rookie Selvin Young at tailback and rotate in first-year player Andre Hall. Young has 18 carries in six games and Hall has yet to lug an NFL football in a regular-season game.

The injury report Friday did not stop with Henry. It also appears the Broncos may have to play a second game without Champ Bailey. The star cornerback strained his quadriceps three weeks ago while covering San Diego tight end Antonio Gates in the end zone.

Following the bye week, Bailey did not play last Sunday against Pittsburgh. He appeared to be healthy during a light workout Monday, but by Thursday he indicated he was not yet recovered.

Prior to the team's workout Friday, Bailey said his playing status would be a game-time decision. Not practicing Friday night would indicate his playing status would lean closer to the doubtful side of questionable.

"It's just I feel it," he said. "When I feel it, that's really not good. I can play through some pain, but stretching and pulling is another thing."

Bailey has missed just three games in his nine-year career. The first two were in 2005. The Broncos are 3-0 in his absence. If he doesn't play against the Packers, Domonique Foxworth would again slide over from the nickel to left cornerback.

2) Henry owners, what are you hoping you can get for him (or is interest in trading for him so low that you're thinking that it's best to just hold him and hope he finishes out the season?)
Interest is so low that I'll just hold onto him and hope he goes off in his final game before the suspension. He plays the Lions. (His potential suspension)

Henry's value is darn near rock bottom. IMO there is about a 0.01% chance he beats this drug test. His suspension will start in 2 weeks. He isnt even healthy right now. Basically your getting a one to two week rental player that is middle of the road RB with a huge upside.

I tried to get him one league I was in only as a stop gap until Maroney was healthy, however we couldnt work it out. I think the only real owners that would be interested in Henry are ones who might own A Rudi Johnson, Shawn Alexander, S.Jax, or MJD. Guys who might not be 100 for a week or two. Maybe you can trade him for someone needing a bye week filler in week 9.

Personally, with a roster of 15, I probably wouldnt trade him for about 13 of these guys.

He's a putz and I'd like to drop him outright but I'm afraid Mrs. Jacobs will get hurt again and Young just isn't going to start until he goes away.

I dont know all of the details of Henry's contract but someone made a good point in another post about Henry needing to fulfill certain performance obligations like starting in X amount of games/ X rushing yards-attempts..pretty sure that is the sole reason he's really pushing this appeal. Just needs to squeek out as much work as possible; Does anyone really think he's innocent?? Plus he's going to need all that scratch having 20 kids..assuming he starts paying child support soon. I had so many offers for this clown early in the season and didnt pul the trigger. The only teams that may be interested now are the guys with bye week issues or facing a tough matchup these next 2 weeks

You want some examples to perhaps set a barometer for worth?

In one league, I own Selvin Young and the T Henry owner offered me Kevin Curtis for Selvin Young or offered to trade me Travis Henry for Patrick Crayton.

In my other league I own both T Henry and S Young. I am awaiting league approval of a trade where I send both of those guys to another owner for MJD (I have Fred Taylor) and Sammy Knight (it is an IDP league and I need a decent bye week cover for Adrian Wilson and Bernard Pollard who are off this week).

Henry is all but gone and Young isn't a lock to put up RB1 or RB2 numbers, so why bother with the headache?

Why do some sharkpoolers act like they are above some threads??? This is not a one time occurrence. I see several "Like we need another thread on X, how about you utilize the search feature before posting..." posts.
That's because these are the same tools who still live at home with their parents begging for threads like this to start so they can pounce with their whiny, holier than thou, jerked-off responses. The days of actually finding useful information in any thread is over (except MOPs exploit write-ups :lmao: - It helped to ease the pain of losing Wheelhouse's interesting tidbits).

Anyway, get over yourselves. at the end of the day we are nothing more than a bunch of geeks tracking our imaginary teams on a fantasy football forum.

I didn't read any of the content here but want to answer the title of the thread. I don't see Henry as a "buy low" unless you're giving up your 2nd string kicker at this point in time. The facts here are we don't know when he will get suspended, or even if he does, I'm not claiming to have any knowledge about it at all.

Here is one scenario, this coming up Tuesday Goodell/leauge announce Henry is suspended for a year. If that were to happen then whatever you paid for Henry would likely have been too much. Getting accurate information from the NFL/Teams in the NFL/Players in the NFL is near impossible these days and getting accurate information from PFW, ESPN, Rotoworld, etc; is even more impossible these days. I was one of those fools who "Bought Low" on Mike Vick once the tool from ESPN said "Mike Vick will not be indicted", this did not work out too well for me, yeah I bought low, Jeff Garcia for Mike Vick, that's pretty low back when I heard the news but as it stands now that was the worst trade I ever made in my entire life.

Nobody knows when and even if Henry gets suspended, there are no accurate sources of information available to us anymore, buy him if you want but don't cry if he gets suspended sooner than you hope.

Perhaps. But, if we are talking about potential trades or lineup decisions, those geeky topics belong in the Assistant Coach Forum. This current thread does appear to be a "should I pull the trigger" question couched in a "Travis Henry's Value" frame, which has already been played out ad nauseum in the Shark Pool. By the way, should I start Earnest Graham or Selvin Young this week? Will answer yours.

Start Graham. If Marvin is inactive this week, Should I start Donald Lee or Chester Taylor at flex?

:banned: Start CT at flex...Childress is dumb enough to sit AD for that "change of pace" look, so I'd capitalize on that. Lee is good for only 4-5 targets tomorrow.

I see bullying never goes out of style no matter what age you are.

I offered Carson Palmer and Henry/Young for Peyton Manning and the owner said no. Bear in mind, this guy is currently relying on DesShaun Foster as his #2 from here on out.

I'd rather have Palmer and Henry/Young. Chris Henry will be back and at that point I think Palmer will put up obscene numbers given that their D stinks so they have to score and people will have to start respecting Kenny Watson. What with the newfound Addia/Keith tandem, the Colts D playing very well and a banged up Harrison I think Palmer will outscore Manning the rest of the way. Pick up Andre Hall and you should be fine. Maybe even Sapp if you're going to cover all the bases.Out of chaos comes opportunity. If the opportunity exists to acquire Henry for little to nothing it's worth a gamble.

1. I wouldn't give Chris Henry for him right now.2. As a Henry owner in a redraft, interest is so low, I'd take an upgrade at WR3. From Cotchery, so it's not easy. Any upgrade really, I offered Henry and Kitna for Palmer, got rejected.3. I haven't seen him dealt yet.
