Anyone worried about Detroit's tough schedule? (1 Viewer)

Everyone is very high on Detroit with Martz's offense.

I am however very worried about their tough schedule..

Anyone else have concerns?

not me. I figure they'll be down by SOOO much they will set an all time record for "garbage time" points.

Am I mistaken, or doesn't DET have a better QB/WR SOS this year compared to last? Aren't they in the meaty part of the bell curve compared to the rest of the league?

FWIW (not much, I know)...

I'm thinking FBG are WAY high on Detroit. Kitna, ROY, Calvin, even Tatum Bell...I think they're all highly overvalued by FBG - and the schedule does play a big part in that.

Martz has never had a team who's passing game finished < 5th overall (thanks to M.Berry for that nugget). In Martz I trust. With Roy/CJ/Furrey it's going to be a hell of a show. Every reason to be high on all involved in the passing game.

Not to much - I'm worried more about their D (especially w/ the loss of Bullocks)

The prediction of 10 wins is so... possible.

The division games are nice

Minny has not shown they can put it together this year - Peterson will not do it by himself

GB may be a surprise if Jones turns out to be as good as his preseason production but unless Jackson turns the corner I think that will be a long shot

Chi will not dominate on D like last year and the offense has not improved

I would not shocked if Detroit ran the table w/in the conference but would expect they will split with Chicago.

Oak, Was, TB, Ari and NYG all strike me as teams that will have some wide fluxes on a week to week basis. I like Detroits chances of catching any or all of them on an off week or having a wildly successful offensive outing to overcome the shortcomings of their D.

KC I almost grouped with the above but that late in the season I think a QB may have established himself, Bowe will have made the transition and there is always that RB of theirs you need to stop.

The true tests for Detroit are the remaining 4

Phi Although McNabb will not be injured by the time they play I'm hoping the WR's will not have established themselves yet - I'm not sold on Curtis as a go to receiver yet and Reggie still has to prove himself - it may happen but I think if it does it will be gradually.

Den - I'm worried

Dal - I'm almost worried

SD - I'm already hoping they lock up home field advantage and are putting the scrubs in early

On one hand their bad defense will force them to play from behind which is nothing but good news for passing stats. The bad part is the line is not strong, defenses won't respect the running game and the defense will be in full fledged attack mode all of which means Kitna is going to take a beating. His age and recent back problems are not encouraging. If he goes down he'll take the entire offense down with him.

The offense should be able to partially offset this.

I think the O-linen will be sufficient even though a long way from being an elite unit. I think the Defenses will respect the running game - Tatum is not my 1st choice but he will get the job done (hold on to the rock though). Kitna will take his share of beatings but not Carr-ishly so

There are plenty of older QB's so that by itself is not enough. Kitna's back spasm's isn't anything new is it? I seem to recall them in the past as well (last year and elsewhere). He is tough but you are right if he does go down even a homer like me can see the 10-6 prediction becomes another cruel joke for the Mo-Town favorites.
