2nd Team

OFFENSE

Quarterback—Vacant.
 Anyone know why a 2nd team QB wouldn't be named?
There's no such thing as a 2nd team -- it's a misnomer. The 50 voters each pick 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, etc. The top vote getter at QB is a first-team All-Pro. The second leading vote getter is the second-team All-Pro. In 2007, 49 voters picked Brady and one homer picked Favre. That made Favre the "AP Second-team All-Pro." This year, all 50 picked Brady.

Reggie Wayne had a lotta catches but 1st team?
Agreed. I think Lloyd should have been there rather than Wayne. Wayne shouldn't even be 2nd team IMO. My 2nd team would have been Andre Johnson, Jennings, and Nicks though I can't complain much about Calvin Johnson or Bowe getting in there. They all had comparable seasons.I also think Gates should have been the first team TE even with his injuries.

the difference b/w Brady at #1 and #2 was so great, they didnt even award someone #2, it would have been an injustice to Brady. :goodposting:

Ah. So it's more like, the 1st team and the "also received votes" team.

While Brady was the obvious first-teamer, I am a little surprised that one or two voters didn't give Vick their vote.

Also, Wayne as a first-teamer? I don't know about that one.

Agreed on all accounts.

I also think Champ should have been second team. He had a fantastic season, but I think it went widely unnoticed due to Denver's utter inteptitude and the other more widely publicized stories (Spygate II, McD's firing, Tebow, Lloyd's breakout, etc.)

1st Team

OFFENSE

Guards—Logan Mankins, New England; Jahri Evans, New Orleans.
Does Mankins deserve this while playing just nine games?Or, is this being voted on by the same people who gave Rafael Palmeiro a golden glove award for playing DH?
Of course not. Another example of the joke All-Pro, Pro Bowl votes etc have become.
Depends. He was clearly the best guard in the league when he played. But I can understand the argument that he didn't play enough games to deserve consideration. Of course, that same logic would also have to apply to Ed Reed. Does anyone think Ed Reed shouldn't have made first team?
