Are these games in Cleveland going to happen today? (1 Viewer)

Should be able to get both in. Trying to get the snow off the field right now. Heard over 14" fell on the field itself.

MLB also talking about moving the Angels series scheduled for Tues-Thurs. to Anaheim.

So now they have 4 games to make up. Does SEA even come to CLE again this year?
:lmao:ETA: good thinking by the schedule makers to bring in Seattle for their only visit in early April.
:goodposting: that is ridiculous. I understand that you want to get a few games in before facing a division rival, but doesn't it make sense to have these teams start in a warmer climate or a dome stadium?!?

So how will these games be made up?? Maybe both teams will have the same off days and they can schedule double headers those days.
I suspect they'll have a couple of Mondays where they both have off during the season. That'll obviously suck worse for SEA than CLE since they have to travel. Either way, its not ideal for either team. As the season wears on, you want those days off. It won't be TOO big a deal, but in a division like the AL Central, where I assume it'll be close, every little advantage helps. This certainly doesn't help CLE.

Major League Baseball has moved the Angels and Indians 3-game series, which begins Tuesday night, from snowy Jacobs Field to Miller Park in Milwaukee.

This move also allows the Angels to continue on to Boston to begin a weekend series on Friday night.

Here are the new times (all EDT):

Tuesday

Game Time: 7:05pm

Wednesday

Game Time: 7:05pm

Thursday

Game Time: 1:05pm

This allows the Angels a convenient way to get to Boston for Friday's game.

There are a few days off that the teams share, but several of them will be a nightmare to try and do schedule-wise. Monday, June 11th is one of those days with the best chance. Indians finish a weekend series in Cincy with a day game (not too far away from CLE) before heading to Florida for a Tuesday night game. The Mariners finish a weeked series in San Diego and will be headed to Chicago for a Tuesday night game. They may need a pit stop in Cleveland for a doubleheader.

"Making sense" and MLB should never be in the same sentence.

 I am VERY surprised by this. I can't believe CLE would agree to this (maybe they had no choice).

I'm sure they weren't given much choice if the upcoming forecast is still showing snow and cold.

But that is just it - the weather is getting better!

I hope that Tribe offers exchanges for another game as I am sitting on tickets for tomorrow night

I don't think that they had a choice. Bud Selig is a total joke of a commissioner. The Angels offered to play this series in LA and their other series would then be moved from LA to Cleveland. But apparently that wasn't to King Selig's delight. Funny how this series ended up in Milwaukee. I forget, who owns that stadium? The other owners are fools for not getting rid of Selig a long time ago. Under his watch player salaries have gone through the roof, fan interest has fallen, the steroid scandal has happened, there have been multiple strikes, we had the complete fiasco of a tied All Star game, and he's made quite a few shady decisions that have directly benefited the Brewers.

I dont understand why they didnt move the games yesterday and today to Akron.

The Indians have a minor league team there and Akron doesn't have snow to speak of. The Aero's would of had to reschedule their games but that is better than the Indians having to.

I don't see the conpiracy here. It's not like Miller Park is going to sell out for the Angels and Indians. Fairly creative solution for a guy that never seemed all that bright. Matter of fact I wouldn't doubt that someone else thought of it.

"Considering the combination of the weather forecast, the playing conditions at Jacobs Field, fan comfort issues and a concern about the length of inactivity for our players, a change of venue for the three-game series is the most logical option," said Indians President Paul Dolan. "We would like to thank Major League Baseball and the ownership groups for both the Angels and Brewers for their support during this unique situation."

It will be a nice change for Baseball fans in Milwaukee too see two good teams play against each other

The owner agreed to it so she has a better case for moving the team to Miami in the offseason.

Brewers are selling all tickets to the series for $10. I just ordered a ticket for Tuesday night's game 20 rows behind home plate for $12 (transaction fee included) :goodposting:

Um Selig sold his ownership interest in the Brewers a few years ago and the city of Milwaukee owns Miller Park. With that being said whomever is responsible for the scheduling ought to be shot. It's one thing if 2 midwest teams are playing each other but why the hell are west coast teams being schedule in the Midwest (open air stadium) in the 1st week in April. That's the stupidity behind all of this.

I called the box office directly and there didn't seem to be a transaction fee. Did you do yours through ticketmaster?Six rows behind home plate on Wednesday. I might have to break out the Mirer jersey for that one.

Yeah, to his daughter. No conflict of interest anymore!

Um guess again...The Selig family has no ownership interest in the Brewers at all. LA businessman Mark Attanasio bought the team in 2004.
