Arians comments don't do jack for me.
Actually, the part where Arians says ""Partly, it was us; we took a pass-first mentality to Baltimore and it backfired," Arians said yesterday after practice. "Last year was last year. All I'm worried about is this year. We're going to run the football, make no bones about it."Let's take a look at the last four games:
2006
Nov 26 @ BAL - FWP was 10/22 with a long of 12 rushing; 2/15 long of 10 receiving; PIT down 17-0 at half, no other rushing attempts by a RB, combined 42 passing attempts; final - BAL 27-PIT 0
Dec 24 @ PIT - FWP was 13/29 with a long of 8 rushing, 0 receptions, PIT down 14-0 9:59 left in 2nd, 1 other rushing attempt by Davenport, combined 42 passing attempts; final BAL 31-PIT 7
2005
Oct 31 @ PIT - FWP was 14/63 with a long of 16 rushing, 2/18 receiving with a long of 10; PIT holds lead entire game, 10 other rushing combined by Haynes, Bettis, Randel El, combined 31 passing attempts: final PIT 20-BAL 19
Nov20 @ BAL - FWP was 18/59 with a long of 14 rushing, 2/22/1TD receiving with a long of 11; PIT down 13-6 at half, 3 other rushing attempts by Bettis and Haynes, combined 32 passing attempts; final BAL 16-PIT 13
It's still seems like a risk to start him, but if the Steelers stick with the running game like they say, FWP
could improve on his previous stats vs. Ravens...and could put forth his typical game.
Still, I am considering starting Travis Henry over FWP.
