I'm actually tied for first place in my only league. I am just curious how many people come back each year to play no matter what. I won my league a couple years ago and our draft night is one of the best nights of the year. Sometimes I do wish I can just enjoy the games on TV without worrying what my players and opponent's players are doing. I tend to say I will take at least a year off but always come back when it gets close to draft time.Curious why you are asking this question? What would suddenly push any of us to stop? The question must be from the perspective of an owner having a lost fantasy season and no hopes for the playoffs. Getting to the SHIP's is what it's all about. I won both my leagues last year, and am points leader in both my leagues again this year (so far). So looking to another run only makes you want to do it again the next year. Of course I'll play next year. Just two leagues though. It's a hobby, not a business. As long as it's fun, why not? This is a curious question to ask on a fantasy football message board. I don't get it. The OP needs to explain his backstory a little.
I am definitely changing my draft strategy next year from going RB heavy to taking a stud QB and pairing him with a stud WR. The top teams in my league have Rodgers and Brees as their QB and their RB are less to be desired.Done with it ... It's not like it used to be.The new pass happy NFL and RBBC has made it so random that it has become pot luck. The only distinguishing factor is a top 3 QB.
Try to remember that your "rooting" for your guys doesn't have any effect on winning/losing. The real game of fantasy football is played during midweek transactions/trades. That's the strategy that I love about this game. The owners that are inactive, no matter how good they draft, tend to lag in the standings. The in-season management is where fantasy games are won and lost. The actual games are for watching and enjoying the plays. Sit back and enjoy. The game is the thing. The fantasy points can be counted later. This sport is fantastic to watch either live or on TV.I'm actually tied for first place in my only league. Interesting. The top team in my league this year is the one that hasn't run out of starting calibre RBs yet.I am definitely changing my draft strategy next year from going RB heavy to taking a stud QB and pairing him with a stud WR. I don't really have a problem doing that. Maybe none of my leagues are expensive enough to make a loss a really devastating thing. I'm in two keeper leagues with friends, and try to find a normal redraft every year too. I think that's another way you can go to avoid stress while watching games; unless you own all the same players in every league, more leagues means more players for and against you, meaning it becomes pretty counterproductive to worry about any given touchdown.I'm actually tied for first place in my only league. I can say that I will definitely be playing again next year. This year was my first time playing in about 5 years...so it has been exciting getting back into it. Currently playing in two redraft leagues, one for free and one money; the money league is by far the best due to the level of activity of the other owners. The one thing I'd like to do next year is try to find a keeper/dynasty league to join. Other than that its been a blast. Currently sitting in the wild card spot in my money league with two games left! Are you playing fantasy football next year?
The Rodgers owner is running away with it in my league. The fallacy is believing that'll undoubtedly be true next year.'habsfan said:Interesting. Hmmm. You only get together with these people once a year and they complain about that and would prefer to draft online instead?Might want to check into new deodorant.Of course. Running my league since 94. It's tradition. Still do our live draft. Couple people complain and want to do it online but it's our one time to all still get together.

If you really feel this way, you SHOULD quit. Its supposed to be a fun hobby.i wish i could quit. losing sucks and the wins arent enjoyable or even satisfying but only relieving.
there's no age limit on this board? you should be at least 18 before you can postThe only year i didnt do fantasy football was my sophomore year in high school...got grounded for getting caught drinking (fantasy football was really my only punishment, suck it). I will be back next year, obviously.
I don't get what you're doing in this neck of the internet if you haven't played fantasy football in 2 years.I won't be playing next year for the third year in a row and I could not be happier about the decision. It's nice not to have to have a rooting interest in a seahawks/browns week 12 snoozefest or to care what the second string tightend's name is let alone what he may produce during the contest. If you feel like you don't have it in you to enjoy the hobby then let go and be done; you won't regret the decision.
Mine too! Next year I'll do the opposite and wait on QB and go RB/RB/WR/WR/QB now more then ever will be the time to get two RBs early!'habsfan said:Interesting. This is where I was last year around this time. I played for 12 years and gave it up this year after slowly whittling down my number of leagues. I was down from about 7 leagues maybe 5 years ago to 2 leagues two years ago and 1 league last year.I've gotta say that I haven't enjoyed the NFL this much in years. It's really refreshing to just watch the game rather than worrying about the nagging feelings of "I need Drew Brees to throw two more TDs" or "Why aren't they throwing to Stevie Johnson??"I definitely won't be playing next year. I won't say for sure that I'm done forever, but I won't be back any time soon. It was weird having the leadup to the season and hearing all of my friends talk about their drafts, and I'll be honest that I thought about jumping back in, but I held off - and I'm glad I did.If you're thinking about this - or dreading Sunday, like one of the guys above - take a year off and enjoy it.'BusterTBronco said:I've been playing fantasy football for 11 years and I expect this year to be my last. Not directed at me, but I like the FFA and have made many friends here who I like to keep in touch with. I pop into the Shark Pool for occasional SNF/MNF/Bills game discussions and for general NFL news. Or, you know, when I see threads like this.I don't get what you're doing in this neck of the internet if you haven't played fantasy football in 2 years.I won't be playing next year for the third year in a row and I could not be happier about the decision. I am the top team in my league, an i do not have a stud QB ive been rolling with Manning an Tebow, i used my two picks on Shady an Megatron. But next year i will be drafting a stud QB. I find it way less stressfull when you know what your going to get out of your QB. When he goes off for 30-40 pts, i was thinking about it today, imagine having a Brady-Gronk combo or Brees-Graham...its crazy an i will adapt my drafting next year.'habsfan said:Interesting. Then you'll be losing to the guy who drafts the 2012 Stafford in rnds 8 or later, while the guy that took the 2012 Shady and Megatron rnds 1 and 2 is the top team in your league.I am the top team in my league, an i do not have a stud QB ive been rolling with Manning an Tebow, i used my two picks on Shady an Megatron. I picked up Newton in all my leagues because i didnt have an elite QB, Newton is one of a kind an you def wont be finding a top 5 qb of waivers every year.I am the top team in my league, an i do not have a stud QB ive been rolling with Manning an Tebow, i used my two picks on Shady an Megatron.
