Arguements FOR a Team QB position in FF (1 Viewer)

Sweet Love

I am in a league that started about 4 years ago (my 3rd and final league I am in) and we actually have a Team QB position. Of course, I had heard of it at the time, but over the years, have not come across many leagues that use it. The league was hastily put together in August of 2007 and went off of a baseline of rules that the commish is part of in another league. In the beginning, we just wanted to get it off the ground, so we let most of those rules become our rules. Over the years we have talked about changing certain things, but most of the guys are just fine with the status quo and we rarely get majority vote on anything as far as changes are concerned.

I was dead set against the rule, and even led a charge this offseason to change it. I really have no problem with it, but what sticks with me is, "if you have a Team QB, why not a Team PK, or even Team RB"? I guess my point is, where does it end. I have to say, it saved my tail tonight as I lost Kitna. But I am curious if anyone else is in one of these leagues and whether it is a debated topic. If I were my opponent tonight, I would be livid...he had me on the ropes, and now I am almost outscoring his defense, and two players with the "Team Dallas QB".

On the "pro" side, there is certainly strategy involved come draft time. I specifically selected Dallas (actually waited on them), because I felt Kitna was the best backup of the backups to the Top 6-7 QBs...and it paid off. A few years back when there was not a clear starter in AZ between Warner and Leinert, the Team AZ QB position went much higher than either Warner or Leinert in my other leagues...but the whole concept still seems funny to me.

That's kind of my thought too. If you did not have BB or some type of delayed WW process, I could see it (nothing worse than you are out for the day, your star QB gets injured, and you see someone picked up his backup five minutes later), but any "strategy" regarding the position/role ends once the draft is over...then it is just cruise-control...

I like team QB in draft and forget leagues...actually think they should be the norm in those kinds of leagues. But for normal leagues where you submit a lineup weekly? :goodposting: Not so much.

Probably one of the worst rules in fantasy football. In my opinion, any league that uses that rule is total bush league. I would never be in a league like that.

I had Kitna in a dynasty league championship game last night for $250. Yes, I was pissed. Yes, it would have helped to add in McGee's extra points but I would have felt really dirty after the game...
