Army Tweets "How Has Serving Impacted You?" Thousand of responses on the horrors of war (1 Viewer)

I don't think this is what the Army had in mind.     Also, this weekend please take a moment and remember all those who have fallen and are still struggling.
It's not at all what they had in mind.  It's also incredibly worthwhile and haunting to read the responses.

At the same time, I think this probably reflects the idea that for every 1 positive "review" there are 10 negative.  Of course hurting, traumatized people are far more likely to respond, and it snowballs.  Anyone who responds positively about their service will then be seen to be minimizing the hurting.  Just my 2 cents.

I dunno?  I put my 2 cents about my military time and it was positive.  Paid for my college.  Got to see Korea, Africa, Turkey and a few other countries that I would have never visited on my own dime.   I don't have the issues a lot of people have so I count my self lucky.   I can't handle the sudden loud noises and it was terrible when my kids were little and would get excited and start yelling.     With age, I have mellowed but I do have certain triggers just not to the point I want to rip out someone's throat anymore.

The negative reviews aren’t like “I’m out $50 on a bad meal. They are my husband killed him self or I have PTSD after participating in the murder of children. I mean the downside is like worst possible scenario.

Thanks Shiz.  I think you're in the large minority of responders (and for all I know servers).

Exactly Ilov.  Which is why I think that responders that DO fit what the Army was hoping might feel like they are diminishing those who gave all or have given so very much.

Good god some of those responses are disturbing and tear jerking.   With that said--I am soo thankful for everybody who has ever served.

In 2004,my wife and I visited the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. My wife, being perceptive to the paranormal- held out her hands. Grains of sad souls filled her hands , like sand. So many sad deaths.
