Loved him on draft day and loving him now.
k-rob had a slow 7 games. leile had a slow 2 gamesAs I've said before I'd look at KRob last season as a comparison fantasywise. Slow start with a nice game here or there but pretty consistent the last half of the season.
That projection sounds about right Frenchy. I'm betting the over also with a 1000 and 8 for him. Great thing about Lelie is that he will get better every game and he already is Plummer's favorite wideout in week 4, he may be scary to face at the end of the year.On pace for 900+ yards & 8 TDs. I like the over.
3 month "guarantees" worthless? Check.1 game "guarantees" worthless? Check.Have any mid-term guarantees we can bet against? Thanks in advance. You want facts? Ok, here's a FACT....Through 3 games Lelie has been targeted a WHOPPING 9 times. 9 TIMES!!! Even your thick skull would see that it's only 3 per game. Do you really think that a player getting targeted three times a game will really have any effect on the outcome of your game? The guy who started this thread sure seems to and that's why I called him out.If you want to come on here and just make yourself look big by rehashing topics from 6 months ago, then by all means do it. People see right through the paper thin guise. As I discussed before, the Holmes comments were made right after the Chiefs picked up Johnson in the draft. A lot of things were being said about his hip and A LOT of weird stuff was being said. Please tell me where I "guaranteed" that his career was over. I may have said that I felt it was over but never guaranteed it.Again, get your facts before you make yourself look any dumber than you are.OK, now I understand. It takes a couple of months for your guarantees to become worthless. Please excuse me for reducing that time-frame to a couple of weeks. The point that you aren't getting is that you seem to make judgements on very little info and spout them as if they were well-reasoned positions when they are in fact knee-jerk reactions based on very little. You type a lot and make strong statements, but you really have very little to back them up which is why your statements CHANGE so dramatically.I'm out. Enjoy your day.Lets see...Very short equals 6 months to you? (April to September?). I posted about Holmes' status waaaayyy back in April right after they drafted Johnson and when a lot of speculation was going around about his health. As we got closer the season and things started to get a lot less murky, drafting Priest was the right decision for me. If you don't like it, too bad. Nobody likes hearing from you anyway. Go home!!OK, so you now say that you completely reversed your position on a player from "He won't ever play again" to actively pursuing the guy in drafts. Thanks for the new info.Is this supposed to make me feel BETTER about your "guarantees"? I'm a little confused. So in a couple of weeks, you'll be saying Lelie is the next Rice after you have been proven wrong as you were in the case of Holmes? How does this make your "guarantee" more reliable?I simply remembered your last guarantee and mentioned it as evidence that your "guarantees" aren't worth much. I apparently did not not do enough "Bristol" research to complete the analysis. I guess I should have assumed you might COMPLETELY reverse your position within a very short timespan. My bad.And I'M the idiot.Uhhh...Already addresses this in a previous post. Had my reservations about Holmes coming out of NFL draft, but preseason quelled my fears. Like I said before, I have him in two leagues and dropped down to get him.Don't make yourself look like an idiot. Have the facts before you post. You also guaranteed in no uncertain terms that Priest Holmes' career was over. You'll have to forgive me if I don't take your guarantees very seriously.SMOKING CRACK!!!!Let's see...He gets three catches for 100+ yards and a score. One of those receptions was due to BLOWN COVERAGE and it just so happens that it was a 44 yard catch for the TD. He will not get those "gimmes" every week. Take that away and he has a very pedestrian night of 2 catches of 56 yards. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut and that's way I attribute his performance to last night. It's almost laughable that you guys are so desperate for this guy to succeed that you don't see the forest for the trees. He is mediocre at best and anyone still clinging to him is doing so on false pretences. Patience has nothing to do with it. It's more like stupidity.Give it up. He's not the savior and never will be. Go ahead and start him next week. I guarantee you will lose.

Yeah...And you are not very good with your grammer....gauranteeing much.![]()

Not a stud, not remotely a stud right now. Probably not in 2003, too many options. Exactly what number option is he in the redzone, if the's in. Portis, Sharpe, Plummer bootleg, Droughns and Rod Smith are all in front of him right now, he's probably tied with Easy Ed. He's also a wideout on a team that will be running a lot of 4th quarter clock out this year if things hold to form. Now I"m loving Plummer's playaction, and I'll go right ahead and say this is the best Plummer's looked in his career. And what Lelie IS is tremendous value for where he was drafted(in most cases). I was able to get him after the 10th round, and I consider him a mediocre WR3 right now, with the potential to be more with the right opponent and more time. Hey, this is a big game, the eyes of the country will be on this. Let me see Lelie make something happen for Plummer here and make a statement. Studs on the level you're raving about, Moss, Owens, Harrison, Moulds, Horn, Buress, etc are able to seize the day with their prescence and will and make a statement. I'm not going to lose faith in him if he doesn't, I own him in 3 of 4 leagues and I couldn't be happier with that. But lets not make him bigger than he is, which is a nice suprise if you got him late enough or got him off waivers off those first 2 weeks.I am going to keep this post alive until the majority of sharks acknowledge Lelie as a stud. He is blazing fast in the defensive backfield and seems to learn something new on every catch. Word on him from the inside, mind you this is speculation as to no identified link, is that he is a hard worker and apt pupil and yearning to be the best, not on Denver but the NFL. I planted my flag next to this guy, I advise all to trade for him now. Every player has their question marks but their is a certain vibe with Lelie that I cannot dismiss.
well said."If [insert hot players name here] is still available, then your league sucks" is becoming the most tired refrain on this board. It needs to be retired along with "Is this collusion?" and "Always start your studs."
Lelie played like someone named Ashley today.I am going to keep this post alive until the majority of sharks acknowledge Lelie as a stud. I'm going to need him this week with Chad Johnson and Nate Burleson as my #1-2. Lelie is taking Eric Moulds' place. Not like idiot Moulds has done anything.10 targets last week, look for him to have a nice game this week
Let's hope he gets a few this Monday night.I love this!!The season is half over and you guys are still making excuses for this guy. When will you finally admit that he is not all you hyped him up to be? Cut him now while you can and get a useful plyer. If anyone is still holing on to him, I would venture to guess that your team is under .500. Mistakes are only mistakes if you refuse to correct them.Admit the hype was unjustified. If not, I will bump this thread everyday and expose all of the so called "sharks" who have tooted his horn from day one.Sharks....HA!!Thanks for reviving this post, it has been in a coma much like Lelie. No one expected Plummer going down, Steve went with familiarity and Kanell is lost. Lelie is learning now on an quicker curve, why not load the box now on Portis meaning they just need someone to chuck it out there and let the kid make some plays one on one. While he did have seperation problems against Baltimore I tend to believe it was because of the unsettling discomfort and bad timing with the QB scenario. He may not drastically explode because of the QB but I amped up for Plummer to get back and make Lelie a key fantasy WR thru the fantasy stretch and playoffs.
:rotflmao: Oh no! Not that!!Admit the hype was unjustified. If not, I will bump this thread everyday and expose all of the so called "sharks" who have tooted his horn from day one.Sharks....HA!!
:rotflmao: I like the kid. Haven't been a staunch defender. I held my hype back because of Plummer. I'm hoping he blows up and has a CJ type second half but I ain't holding my breath. That's what another owner in my league did. I picked him up as a #4 in a 2WR league. He can ride the pine behind Coles and Ward until Plummer gets back.I love this!!The season is half over and you guys are still making excuses for this guy. What does it matter how tall you are? :rotflmao: (I know, I know. But the first time I read it I thought you were telling us you were 6'2")EDIT: I have him. I'm 6-2. I've only played him in two or three times, and he's helped my team when he was in there.
Why don't you go talk with Lynn Swann in the Hall of FameI have always maintained that anyone with the name Ashley Lelie will never be considered a STUD... A good receiver?? maybe..... Stud?? Nahhh.....![]()
Haha, that's pretty funny. I didn't even notice it, but you're right - that's what it looks like.GGWhat does it matter how tall you are? :rotflmao: (I know, I know. But the first time I read it I thought you were telling us you were 6'2")
Lelie being the 40'th WR is a case of misleading statistics. That's not something you need to worry about. What you DO need to worry about is the stuff you can't find in those statistics. How often he's targeted per game (ie how big a part of the gameplan is he), what kind of passes he's targeted on, WHY those passes aren't being completed...that sort of detail is what is important. My research on the guy has me convinced he's worth keeping around - not because he could be a good bye-week filler, but that he might end up being an every-week starter once Plummer is back.If I'm right, that gives me leeway to deal away a bigger name receiver for a decent RB with a good schedule later in the season. If I'm wrong, he continues to ride the pine.GGAmazing how the 40th ranked WR gets so much talk.. Move on just another WR thats hit or miss every week. nice bye week fill in for this year nothing more..
There are stats and there are facts. Yes I know he has been targeted a lot but lets see who will be throwing the ball to him.. Plus factor he is the teams #3 WR.. He has a lot of upside but like the Onterrio Smith threads thats it. Nothing more. Keeper/Dynasty leagues only really need to worry about him..Lelie being the 40'th WR is a case of misleading statistics. He the #2 WR, but probably the third option (with Sharpe in the mix)If you are referring to McAffrey, please tell me you are joking.FYI I have no misconceptions regrding Lelie. He is a WR4 in a 12 team league, but what sets him apart is potential. He is a bye-week fill-in for me this week, and I like his chances of turning in 80+ and a TD Mon night. There are stats and there are facts. Yes I know he has been targeted a lot but lets see who will be throwing the ball to him.. Plus factor he is the teams #3 WR.. He has a lot of upside but like the Onterrio Smith threads thats it. I think you better look at the stats. He was catching 3 balls a game and wasn't getting the looks. I love when people make stuff like this up just to justify their mistake.Give it up already.Don't give up on Lelie yet, he was on fire before Plummer went down.

I can't believe that you people continue to try and rationalize this. The question you need to ask is: if he is being targeted so much than why is he have subpar games? BECAUSE HE STINKS!!! He is not your savior!!! Cut bait while you still can. This thread is the perfect example of the rise and fall of a FBG OVERHYPED player. Want some real enjoyment? Read this thread from beginning to end. It's sickening how many people here hyped this guy and through 8 weeks he has done SQUAT!!!There are stats and there are facts. If P. Manning goes down and Harrison's numbers go down even though he's targeted alot does that mean he stinks? No. You have to look at the situation with a bit of intelligence and try and decipher what's going on. In Denver right now you have had three QB's all of which present issues for WR's. Plummer is new to the system and prone to mistakes. Steve knows the system but always goes to a comfort zone so is very predictable. And finally we have the third string QB coming in and shaking everything up. Lelie is not near experienced enough to cope with the situation and I'm willing to bet Harrison would have issues in performance also under the same circumstances. So post facts and try and look at the whole picture.I can't believe that you people continue to try and rationalize this. If Torry Holt can be a stud, anything's possible.I have always maintained that anyone with the name Ashley Lelie will never be considered a STUD... A good receiver?? maybe..... Stud?? Nahhh.....![]()
Although Lelie has been riding the pine, and he'll be riding the pine for awhile, he's helped my team when I was forced to start him earlier in the year. I wouldn't call that 'doing nothing.' No matter how many capital letters you use, the facts are there. Whether he'll be worth something when Plummer returns remains to be seen. I don't think anyone is stupid for holding him on their roster as a reserve, nor do I think they'd be stupid to cut him. It all depends on the texture of the rest of your team. Since I drafted well and have good depth, I can afford to hang on to him. He certainly has more upside than anything I see on the waiver wire.GGI can't believe that you people continue to try and rationalize this.
