Ask dynasty IDP questions here (1 Viewer)

I don't think I can really answer that. You're taking a step down from Cyprien to Vaccaro. You get Helu to make up for it. I have no idea what Helu's worth to you - I don't know your RBs, PPR/standard, or starting requirements.

I haven't seen any Ryan news. Jene mentioned in the IDP Audible podcast that it was looking like Ryan wasn't getting much of a shot to this point, but that's all I've heard. I think Barrington is getting the reps at MLB... if he's available, everyone should pick him up in case it sticks.

I was proposed a trade with Denzel Perryman and S. Thomas for M. Burnett. Your thoughts? Idp League.

My others Dbs are C. Pryor and K. Vaccoro

I think I'd hold on to Burnett. Pryor and Vaccaro aren't reliable, you need a rock like Burnett.

It's totally a fair offer, though, and I understand if you accept it - DBs are often available in preseason, so getting Perryman for one is reasonable.

I'd be willing to hold Keenan ahead of Christian Jones, Timmons, or Williamson for sure. Ahead of some of the DL depending on your starting requirements.

I agree with Jones and Williamson. If Hughes is now a LB, him too. Bennett also. Timmons is close - I'd prefer Robinson, but not if I had to drop Timmons then win an auction.

Got a Keeper question and I need to make a final call by Thursday morning. Really glad I found this forum, from what I read, looks awesome. I love IDP.

Need 2 of these guys for this year:

Telvin Smith

Nigel Bradham

Danny Trevathan

Alec Ogletree

Mychal Kendricks

I was leaning toward Ogletree and Trevathan (not sure if he's 100% yet) but I really love T Smith plus Nigel and Mychal carried me last year at times. Tough decision for me. I wish I could keep all of them. I'm allowed 3 keepers but I'm keeping Reshad Jones already.

Thanks

What are your starting requirements? Do you have to start DB separate from LB?

We have to start 3 LBs, 3 DBs, and 2 D players (LB, DB, or DE). So, 8 in total. I try to avoid the DEs unless I get the top 5 because they don't allow you much flexibility because you only have 2 spots they can slot into.

Scoring:

Tackles - 1 pt

Assists - 0.5 pts

Sack - 3

Force fumble - 3

Fumble recovery - 2

Interception - 4

I would keep 3 LB's and let Jones go. You can always find DB's off the street that will produce. I would keep Smith, Ogletree, and Trevathan. I know Trevathan is a question with injuries but he is going to rack up tackles on that defense if he's on the field and I would take that chance.

Kendricks has Kiko to compete with this year so I think he takes a bit of a step back and I just like the other guys over Bradham though it's close.

I agree with Gally, except that if you are high on Reshad, I'd be willing to pass on Trevathan. Health question marks and stiff competition for tackles there, even if I like his chances overall.

Advice on a few players, please.

Two guys I added as potential DE value via veteran retirement, free agency, etc. still remain on my roster and I'm looking for confirmation that they are indeed trash now. Armonty Bryant and Brandon Graham. Dump 'em, yes?

How about Andre Branch? They added a stud rook but he's IR'd already. One more year for Branch or is he fodder?

Finally, Danelle Ellerbe and Koa Misi are still on my roster (it's a 55 man roster, so there's space but it's dwindling quick) and I'm not sure if Misi will ever be healthy or if Ellerbe will be the odd man out with rookie Stephone Anthony in town. Thoughts on those 2?

Much obliged.

I'd dump everyone you listed, assuming there's something better on the waiver wire. I'm holding Branch in a league where I got killed at DE this summer, but I don't expect him to stay on my roster.

My understanding was Ellerbe would be WLB until he was injured. Anthony looks to be starting for sure and David Hawthorne was the guy displaced at MLB. Not sure of severity of Ellerbe injury but Ramon Humber figures in as his replacement, I think? I know Misi has had some injury issues in the past but he is listed as strained calf right now. Should'nt be too big a deal. Would need to know who your other LBs are to know whether or not to keep.

Dunlop or Mario Williams?

balanced scoring:

3 sacks

1 tackle

.5 assists

1 tackle for loss

etc...

I currently have Dunlop but want to pick up Williams. We only start 1 DL so I usually only roster one DL.

Williams was dropped when he was classified as a LB over the summer.

Now the other team wants a draft pick added...what would be fair?

I have:

2.3, 2.5 3.5, 3.7, 3.14

Thanks.

If he didn't say, and you still want to do the deal, offer him your last one. Let him bid you up if need be.

Or you could bluff, say "no" and see if he'll back off the pick demand. If you try this and he pulls the deal you may be kicking yourself in 2016 though.

I would offer the 3.14 and hope he takes it. I would try to avoid giving up the 2's would give up 2 of the 3's first.

They are so close its hard to call. Maybe Dunlap has the slight edge? Has been pretty healthy and is still young

Maybe drop Deangelo Williams or britt?
Thanks for the reply. I agree Dunlop and Mario Williams are both close. If it was redraft would you feel the same?

In two weeks we have to cut down to 34 which means I have to cut 4. I traded DeAngelo for the 4th yesterday (better than cutting him) so I can temporarily pick up Mario Williams. However, after cut downs, I'm only going to be rostering 1 DL. If I had to make cuts today, these guys would be released:
Ray Rice
Justin Hunter
Kenny Britt

For a little more context, these DLs are also on the wire. Most teams only roster one or two:
Jordan Cameron
Muhammad Wilkerson
Jerry Hughes
Sheldon Richardson
Olivier Vernon

I think I'd go with Dunlap, but it's certainly close. I was one of the people who dropped Williams and Hughes in all my leagues earlier this summer :-(

Thanks for the responses. It's 12 teams with 55 man rosters so there's generally not much to pick through on the wire. I dumped Bryant & Graham but held onto Branch as coverage for Sheldon Richardson's suspension & can see what he has over a few games. Ellerbe is a wait and see and I added Sheppard which should ensure I own the starting mike in MIA this year once they settle their camp battle.

Good call on Sheppard. I added him in all my leagues a couple weeks ago when he was getting all the MLB reps in camp. I need to check in to see if that's still happening, but he could be in a nice situation this season.

10 team IDP dynasty league. Start 2 DL, 2 LB, and 2 DBs.

Been offered Bowman and E Griffen for Spiller and Timmons.

My current RBs and IDPs.....

RBs - Lacy, Forte, Ingram, Spiller, C Ivory

DL - Watt, Wake

LBs - Levy, Lee, Timmons and S Anthony (rookie)

Getting Navorro Bowman is an easy accept for me. Sucks to break up your NO RBs but to have Bowman and Levy as your week to week starters is prettttttty nice especially considering it has no impact to your starting RBs.

Is there really a huge difference between Lee and Bowman, though?

SS DJ Swearinger. Has this headhunter finally matured into a solid IDP player or will he disappoint yet again ?

Reports out of Tampa are encouraging but this guy has a bad rep for dirty play .

Dirty doesn't matter - remember Rodney Harrison?

I've never really seen enough of Swearinger to have my own opinion on him. Jene is very skeptical of him fitting in Lovie's system, which makes some sense - his description is of an in-the-box SS playing the run, which doesn't fit with a Cover-2 at all.

I have a team where the preseason hasn't been kind to my DBs (Chancellor, Branch), so I considered Swearinger, but I decided against picking him up off waivers... so I guess my advice is to pass on him, even if I don't have a lot of hard reasons for it.

The JJ Watt owner in my dynasty league unfortunately had some tough injury luck with Foster and Nelson. I've been reaching out to him about a deal for JJ but we have not been able to agree on a price. This is my latest offer, any thoughts on how I could seal the deal? We are in a tackle heavy league. 1pt tackle, .5 assist, 3pt sacks, 1pt TFL, etc.

I give

Mason, Tre STL RB
Hopkins, DeAndre HOU WR
Year 2016 Round 2 Draft Pick
Year 2016 Round 3 Draft Pick
Year 2016 Round 3 Draft Pick

I get
Smith, Alex KCC QB
Watt, J.J. HOU DE
My team:

QB: Ryan Tannehill, Andy Dalton
RB: Eddie Lacy, Justin Forsett, Doug Martin, Danny Woodhead, Joique Bell, DeAngelo Williams, Charles Sims, Tre Mason, James Starks, Josh Robinson
WR: Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Allen Robinson, Mike Wallace, Roddy White, Larry Fitzgerald, Breshad Perriman, Kenny Britt, Donte Moncrief
TE: Jimmy Graham, Tyler Eifert, Jason Witten
PK: Justin Tucker
DE: Carlos Dunlap
LB: Luke Kuechly, CJ Mosley, Jamie Collins, Sean Lee, Anthony Barr, DeMario Davis
DB: Antoine Bethea, Antrel Rolle

Future picks:
2016: 1st, 2nd, 3 3rds, 2 4ths
2017: 2nd, 3rd, 4th

I'd agree my current offer contains a lot of fluff but I also don't want to over pay too much. Thank you in advance for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it.

I wouldn't up your offer. While Watt is ridiculous, Hopkins isn't that far off of him in value. With Mason and the picks already, I think you've made a fair offer.

I'd call 1:3 balanced scoring, not tackle-heavy.

The latest blurb on Sheppard is that he's expected to stick at ILB with Misi kicking to OLB. This would likely be SLB with Jenkins at WLB. Does this make Misi a cut? He wasn't spectacular even at MLB last year so I'm guessing his value is reduced to not-roster-worthy, correct? The info is a reporters take and not yet an official team release.

Still negotiating and I have a new offer which is going to be my last:
I give
DeAndre Hopkins - 29
Tre Mason - 3
Carlos Dunlap - 0
Year 2016 Round 1 Draft Pick - 8.5

Year 2016 Round 3 Draft Pick - 0

I get

JJ Watt - 45
Alex Smith - 0

I placed points by each player using the dynasty value charts. I'm giving Watt a valuation of a top 5 player (45). The total is I'm giving 40.5. I'd say it's fair for a championship team looking to rebuild after some bad luck. The only reason why I added Alex Smith to the deal is that he has a good match up the week of Tannehill's bye. Dalton plays the Seahawks. No thanks.

Yeah, Misi isn't a good FF LB. Cut.

I give:

Deone Bucannon (2.2M salary)

Kiko Alonso (3.25M salary)

I get:

CJ Mosely (17.8M salary)

Kam Chancellor (2.5M salary)

16 team salary cap dynasty. 2pts/solo 1pt/asst 3pts FF/FR 5 pts/INT 4 pts/sack

I am in full rebuild mode and will be lucky to win 2-3 games this year. I have a ton of cap space (65M) so could take on Mosely's salary. The other team is over the cap and obviously looking for room.

Thanks.
