So when I get out there, to I join the thread or make my own?
depends on if your stories are better.better stories = make your own thread
Dunno...I guess I'll start here, if Assani doesn't mind and go from there. Still a few months out....
I say a different thread. Assani has happened in front of us in a way that yours could be volume two.

Here's a puke worthy hand, notice the guy in seat 2 :football:
Gotta love playing against a guy who will go to the felt with top pair.
And a guy that calls pre-flop raises out of position with garbage.
Am I missing something obvious? What is so bad about this hand??One guy flops a set... the other flops top pair with a queen kicker, along with the nut flush draw... huge hands for both of them.

And what about the guy in seat 2? He folds before the flop, doesn't he?

I'm really not getting enough vegas stories out of this thread.
I kid you not that multiple footballguys have met up with me and partied out here and made me promise to not share anything with the board :goodposting: As for me personally, yeah you're kinda right...there has been a lack of interesting stories. I dunno maybe its just because I've been so focused on making money and getting my feet under me. As I'm making more money and getting straight financially, I'm starting to go out and have more fun, so I'm sure some stories will be coming.

The guy in seat 2 is FastEddie from the boards here who is going pro in Vegas soon and the guy that transferred me the funds. The reason I called with the suited gap connectors is because I knew enough about the original raiser to know he was hammering my blinds all night with complete garbage. This was by far the best blind hand I had seen after 45 minutes of sitting at the table so I called and was hoping to hit big, if I was going to fold all night then I would have not played poker.

nope:torquebow:

I didn't know that was eddie. I've played against him in 200NL on Full Tilt. My notes don't start with the word donk, calling station or aggrotard, so that's encouraging. I did note one hand though where you raised 2-8 from mid with 33, check/raised the flop 12-34 with Q45 up, bet $57 on a 6 turn and called $100 more all-in. Little overaggressive there.

As for the hand above, I didn't notice anything odd about it other than the guy with the set raised raised awfully big on the flop.

Hey guys, just curious, dont mean to clutter the thread too much but i searched and could find much info. What poker site would you guys recommend? Never played online for real money if that makes any difference. If ya want just shoot me a pm instead of a reply here to keep it clear in this thread.

I personally have more success at Poker Stars than anywhere else. The ECheck system they have is pretty good.

43 out of 772 people left in the PokerStars Hundred Grand($162 entry fee)....I'm 7th in chips, but we're still far from finished. Goal is to at least make final table tonight, as I have a bad streak of going out in between 10th and 18th lately.

can we watch this?
Pokerstars, go under tourneys, go under regular, make sure you DON'T have "show registering/upcoming only" checked, sort them by date and look for the 'Nightly Hundred Grand' which started at Dec 20 21:00.ORGo to 'requests' then go to 'find a player' and search for 'jwvdcw'.

Well like I said ive never played online before, as it is now I play live cash game at my local seminole hard rock. I play $1/$2 no limit holdem. Without saying for sure Id guess Ill probably start out around there online, maybe going slightly higher or lower to see what game I like initially. As for how much Ill deposit, Im guessing itll be a max of $500 initially, Im not a huge stakes player, I just enjoy the game but depending on how well I do online I could see myself upping the stakes as time passes. I would like to begin to play tournaments as well, would probably start at small buy in torneys to get a feel for them since Ive only played cash games so far. If theres anything else I can add let me know, appreciate it. Hope youre still pushing strong in the tourney  .

would be interested in thoughts on this hand btw...obviously it worked out great for me and considering what he had I played it optimally. But if he hits an ace on river I probably wanna kill myself. We were such big stacks and he raised 4xBB preflop....I was pretty scared. Does everyone here call if he pushes on river too? Do you think it would've been best to push river myself since that way we'll get all of JJ's money and we would've called anyway if he ends up having KK or AA.

Do you play in this nightly $100,000 often, and, if so, what's your highest finish?
I'm just getting back into tourneys now. I'm going to start playing these as much as possible. I've won a few big ones before, and IIRC I won this exact tourney in January of 2005...although it only paid $15K or so, so either it had much less participants than it does now or I'm mistaken and thinking of a different tourney.

LOL....I'm not downplaying winning $15K by any means. I'm just saying that since this tourney pays $25K for 1st that might mean I'm thinking of a different tourney. Trust me, I'd be more than happy to win $15K.
